**Trust at work. It matters more than most employers realise.**

When you trust your employer everything changes. You speak up. You ask for help. You give your best because you feel safe enough to.

When that trust isn't there? It shows up in ways that are hard to ignore. The Sunday evening dread. The quiet anxiety about where you stand. The late-night job searches "just to see what's out there."

Over time, that takes a real toll on mental health.

Trust doesn't cost a thing to build but it costs everything to lose. Consistency, honesty, and genuinely checking in on your people (not just their targets) goes a long way.

If you're a manager or business owner, ask yourself honestly - do your people trust you?

If you need help on building a trusting workplace culture - get in touch with our Recruitment Services Director Lynne Rose - 01722 334433

Our Director of Recruitment Services Lynne is back from her most recent adventure and trek in support of Stars Appeal - Salisbury District Hospital's Charity. She's raised £12700 so far with her fundraising partner Colin Ford!

Along with 28 other local people, she trekked high up in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas, reaching 3200 metres!

Well done and huge congratulations to the whole team!

Ever worked in retail or hospitality? 🛒☕

Whether it was a Saturday job whilst you were at school, your way through university, or a full career, don't underestimate what that experience is worth.

✅ Instinctive customer empathy - you learn quickly how to read people, handle difficult situations, and make someone's day better. That's a skill for life.

✅ Resilience - busy Saturdays, short-staffed shifts, demanding customers. You just get on with it. That toughness shows up everywhere.

✅ Communication - you've talked to hundreds of different people every single day. That confidence is something others spend years trying to develop.

✅ Teamwork - when it's chaos and the team pulls together, you understand what real collaboration looks like.

✅ Commercial thinking - targets, upselling, promotions, margins. You understood business before you even realised it.

✅ Leadership - many people manage their first team in retail or hospitality. Real responsibility, real people, real pressure.

If you're thinking about a career change or moving into a new industry, don't write off what you already know.

Reframe it. Own it. Sell it. Your experience is more valuable than you think!

Big wage changes are coming in April - are you ready?

From April 2026, the National Living Wage rises to £12.71 per hour, and younger workers will also see significant pay increases. That's great news for employees, but for business owners, it means reviewing your payroll, your recruitment plans, and your budgets.

We've written a blog covering everything you need to know; what the increases are, what they mean for workers, and how employers can navigate the added pressures without losing great staff.

Whether you're looking for work or looking to hire, we're here to help.
