Lucy Ryan, from Salisbury is raising money to compete in Team GB for the World Transplant Olympics.
We are behind Lucy all the way and caught up with her this week to hear more about her journey;
“I'm still in shock that I've been selected to compete for Team GB in the World Transplant Games in Australia this April. But what better way to mark my 30th Heart Transplant (which falls during the games) than by representing Great Britain on an international scale, and hopefully simultaneously raising awareness of Organ and Tissue Donation. This is all thanks to my donor family, my family and incredible medical teams for giving me a second chance at life.”
On Saturday 4th Match Lucy is hoping to give her fundraising an extra boost by taking part in a freefall skydive. Not a fan of heights or planes this will be a huge challenge for Lucy, but a great opportunity to shine a light on the British and World Transplant games and Organ and Tissue donation.
Lucy will be freefalling for 30 seconds of her skydive challenge, that’s one second for every extra year her heart transplant has given her.
Let’s all help get Lucy to the games to represent Team GB!!!!
We will be cheering along ( with two feet on the ground) at Lucy’s skydive on Saturday 4th March GoSkydive, Old Sarum Airfield!
