IT’S NEVER JUST ABOUT RECRUITMENT.

After years of recruiting for the hair, beauty and aesthetics industry, and being an employer myself — I’ve learnt something very important:
When businesses tell me they have a recruitment problem, very often… they don’t.
They have a business problem, a culture problem or a clarity problem.
So here are my 3 GOLDEN NUGGETS from me 👇
1. STOP recruiting for skills alone.
Skills can be taught.
Attitude, values, energy and work ethic are much harder to change.
Ask yourself: Will this person actually belong in my business and my team?
2. KNOW what you are recruiting INTO.
Before you write that job advert, look inside your business.
Would YOU want to work there?
Is your culture clear?
Are your expectations clear?
Do your team feel valued, developed and listened to?
Because recruitment doesn't fix a broken culture.
3. RETENTION starts before DAY ONE.
The interview.
The communication.
The offer.
The welcome.
The onboarding.
Every single one tells your new employee what kind of employer you are.
Don't spend weeks looking for the perfect person and then forget about them the minute they say YES.
Recruitment isn't about filling a vacancy.
It's about putting the right person, into the right business, with the right culture — and giving them a reason to stay.
That’s when recruitment becomes powerful ❤️
