Today was an exciting day for our new service users as they attended a meet & greet to explore volunteering opportunities that match their interests🐴💙

Before joining our supported living service, they spent time in college working with horses and have always had a real passion for animals. We believe that moving into supported living shouldn't mean leaving behind the hobbies, interests, and experiences that make someone who they are.

Finding meaningful volunteering opportunities is about so much more than filling time, it's about promoting independence, building confidence, developing new skills, and ensuring our clients continue to do the things they love.

We can't wait to see where this new opportunity takes them! 🌟

Impressions Care spent the day at Coastland College Weymouth talking all things healthcare this week🩺

😀Introducing students to Impressions Care Solutions and what roles are within our businesd, showing them what real community care looks like and why we do what we do.

The best part?

The hands-on simulation gear. We literally put the students "in their shoes" to build some real empathy.

They tried out:
⚖️ Weighted suits for frailty
👓 Eye simulators for vision loss
🛑 Bariatric suits for mobility struggles

It was great seeing the moments when they realised how these challenges actually feel.

Massive thanks to the college and the NHS Dorset County Hospital for a great day! 🙌

🏖Dorset: more than just a gateway to the South West, a holiday coastline, or a retirement destination.Whatever your perception, the reality of working here is entirely different.

👥️Dorset is home to an incredible network of businesses that actively collaborate, support one another, and drive regional growth.

👩‍💻As the Business Development Manager for Impressions Care Karen Shillcock perfectly illustrated the strength of this business community:

🔹 Strategic Planning: attended the Dorset Chamber Business Voice Forum to discuss key priorities and focus areas for 2026/2027.

🔹 Community Collaboration: At the Hamberley Care Professional Breakfast, networking and successfully facilitated an introduction for one of our existing clients.

🚜🫏 Later in the week, Karen traded her high heels for boots and jeans to head out into the community for face-to-face meetings.

This hands-on time is always the most rewarding part of her role and everyone within the office.

During a visit, one of our service users -AA, shared a comment that truly touched our hearts: ❤️

"I know I have H, I, and S as my support workers, but I didn't realise how many other people help me from the office. I feel very special."

Moments like this remind us exactly why we do what we do. Behind every frontline worker is a dedicated office team ensuring our clients feel valued, safe, and truly cared for.
