Enterprise Personnel are assisting our client, based in Central Bedfordshire and with over 40 years’ experience, who are an established provider of horticultural and grounds maintenance services, working with heritage estates, housing providers, and local authorities. They are known for delivering high-quality, reliable services and maintaining long-term client relationships built on trust and performance.
As the business continues to grow, they are now looking for a Business Development Manager to support both the growth and delivery of new and existing work.
This is a varied, hands-on role that combines business development, client relationship management, and operational support. You will not only help win new contracts but also play a key role in ensuring they are successfully mobilised and delivered.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, develop, and secure new maintenance and service contracts
Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
Attend client meetings and site visits
Undertake occasional presentations
Work closely with internal teams to support service delivery and mobilisation of new contracts
Liaise with subcontractors and support operational coordination where required
Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of operatives as needed
Use CRM systems to manage opportunities and track activity
Monitor market activity and identify new business opportunities
Support the smooth start-up of new works and contracts
About you
Experience in business development, account management, contracts management, or a similar commercial role
Comfortable working across both sales and operational delivery
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple priorities
Experience within grounds maintenance, landscaping, facilities management, construction, or hire industries would be advantageous
CRM experience preferred (e.g. Salesforce or similar systems)
The role offers
Permanent, flexible/full-time options may be considered
Office hours: 7:30am–4:45pm (some flexibility available)
Office-based at least twice per week, with some hybrid working available
Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays ( pro-rata)
Commission not applicable for the first 6 months; this will then be reviewed
