Seven Seas Recruitment is currently recruiting for the following position:

・Title: CAPTAIN for a 35m private motor yacht.
・Employment Type: Permanent.

Vessel Details:

・A 35m private motor yacht is currently recruiting for an experienced Captain to join the vessel within the next two to three weeks!
・The yacht is based in the Med, operating a private cruising programme with a crew of seven onboard.
・This is an excellent opportunity for a Captain looking to take command of a privately operated yacht, working closely with the owners and a reputable management company to maintain a professional, enjoyable and well-run programme.

Position Overview:

・The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall command and operation of the vessel, overseeing navigation, safety, crew management, maintenance planning and the day-to-day running of the yacht.
・The owners are looking for someone with an approachable personality, a good sense of humour and a positive outlook, who can maintain a relaxed yet professional atmosphere onboard while ensuring the highest standards of safety and operation.
・A particularly important aspect of the position will be building a strong working relationship with the owners and their family, understanding their preferences, respecting their privacy and remaining flexible as cruising plans evolve.
・The Captain should take a hands-on approach to leadership, supporting the crew, communicating openly and addressing challenges calmly and constructively.
・The position will also involve overseeing maintenance schedules, managing contractors and budgets, and working closely with the yacht’s management company to ensure the smooth running of the programme.

Requirements:

・You must have previous command experience onboard private motor yachts of a comparable size.
・Candidates holding a Master 500 ticket or larger will be preferred, and you must hold a Schengen visa/European passport in hand.
・Strong leadership and organisational skills are essential, alongside experience managing crew, maintenance programmes, contractors and operational budgets.
・The yacht is looking for someone personable, approachable and genuinely invested in crew welfare, who can establish a positive working environment while maintaining clear professional standards.
・Longevity in previous roles will be favoured for this role.
・Salary: Good salary on offer per month (paid in USD).

・A 55m private sailing yacht is recruiting for an experienced Rotational Engineer to join from 1st December.
・The yacht is preparing for an extensive three-year world-cruising programme, including Caribbean regattas, New York, Maine, the Northwest Passage, San Diego, Patagonia and Cape Town.
・Currently undergoing a yard period, the yacht offers a 10:10 rotation and an excellent opportunity for an Engineer who enjoys sailing and worldwide exploration.

Position Overview:

・The Engineer will oversee the maintenance, operation and reliability of the yacht’s engineering systems.
・The role includes supporting ongoing yard works and preparing the vessel for extended international cruising.
・A strong technical background in electronics would be particularly advantageous.

Requirements:

・A private expedition motor yacht is currently recruiting for an experienced Mate & Chef couple to join the vessel on a permanent basis from November!
・The yacht operates an extensive international cruising programme, visiting some particularly interesting and remote destinations throughout the year.
・This is a small, privately operated vessel with a varied cruising schedule, offering a good balance between periods with guests onboard and quieter periods dedicated to maintenance, preparation and general yacht operations.

Position Overview:

・The Mate will be responsible for supporting the Captain with navigation, deck operations, maintenance and tender handling. Strong practical engineering skills are particularly important, alongside confidence handling and manoeuvring a large tow tender.
・The Chef will take responsibility for all aspects of the galley, including menu planning, provisioning and preparing high-quality meals for the owners, guests and crew throughout the yacht’s cruising programme.
・Both candidates should be comfortable working within a small crew, where a flexible, hands-on approach and willingness to assist outside their primary departments are essential.
・The yacht is looking for a couple who enjoy the lifestyle associated with expedition cruising, are comfortable spending extended periods away from major yachting hubs and can adapt easily to different destinations and operational requirements.

Requirements:

・Applications are welcomed from established couples with relevant experience in their respective positions.
・The Mate should have strong deck experience, practical engineering knowledge and proven confidence handling larger tenders and preferably hold a Yachtmaster ticket in hand.
・The Chef should have a solid culinary background, with experience managing provisioning, menus and galley operations independently.
・Salary: Strong salaries per month DOE.
・Annual leave: Four weeks’ paid leave following probation.
・Additional training opportunities and performance-related bonuses are offered.
・Flights and any necessary visas for the cruising programme will be covered by the vessel.

・A private, 75m+ industry-respected motor yacht is currently recruiting for an experienced Rotational Chief Stewardess/Head of Housekeeping to join the vessel from mid-November, with some flexibility on the start date.
・The yacht operates a well-established, dual season private programme with relatively limited owner usage, allowing the interior department to focus heavily on maintenance, organisation and maintaining exceptional standards between guest visits.
・This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced senior interior professional who enjoys the operational and organisational side of yachting, offering a 2:2 rotation, a competitive salary and a generous annual training allowance.

Position Overview:

・The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the interior department, with a particular emphasis on housekeeping, laundry, inventories and general interior maintenance.
・Unlike a traditional service-focused Chief Stewardess position, this role involves relatively limited guest service, with the majority of responsibilities centred around maintaining the yacht to an exceptional standard during periods without owners onboard.
・The yacht is looking for someone who is highly organised, detail-orientated and confident managing an interior team, while ensuring established procedures and standards are consistently maintained.
・An important aspect of the position will be working comfortably within an existing programme, following established systems and routines while contributing positively to the wider crew.

Requirements:

・You must have a minimum of four years’ previous yachting experience, including at least two years as Chief Stewardess or Head of Housekeeping.
・A particularly strong background in housekeeping, laundry and interior maintenance is essential, alongside proven experience managing and organising an interior department.
・You must demonstrate good longevity in previous positions and strong professional references for this role.
・The yacht is looking for someone with a positive, professional and team-orientated attitude, who takes pride in maintaining high standards and enjoys a healthy, active lifestyle.
・A valid B1/B2 visa is required for this role.
・A full driving licence is also required, with candidates expected to be confident driving in both the United States and Europe.
