UIG UK Ltd are pleased to announce the appointment of John S. Hewitt as Regional Director UK & Crown Dependencies who will work closely with the existing board to spearhead the expansion of UIG UK.

John, who has been supporting UIG UK in a consultancy role for several months, will now take over the day to day Operations of UIG UK, and is initially focusing on possible opportunities in the Isle of Man. John comes originally from a financial services background and has extensive experience in the setting up, and subsequent growth, of several of new companies in a number of different sectors, and jurisdictions.

We have significant growth plans for UIG UK, & are already in advanced discussions with several Health Trust, as well as private care providers, relative to UIG UK providing them with support resource. We have built a great working relationship with John S. Hewitt already & all agreed he was the natural fit to fill this newly created position, especially given his prior knowledge of the Isle of Man.

Liz Truss has become the new leader of the Conservative Party and will therefore become the country’s new prime minister once she is formally appointed by the Queen today.

Responding to her appointment, those representing the profession and the NHS have once again called for a fully funded workforce plan and have urged the new prime minister to accept that “safe numbers of staff are needed immediately”.

It comes as latest data from NHS Digital shows the NHS in England has a record level of nurse vacancies, which now stand at almost 47,000.
