Please pop along to the GMB Sussex Branch B50 picket line this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday to show your support for members striking to protect their terms and conditions under threat from Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust despite assurances they would be protected when transferring from Brighton & Hove City Council

GMB Southern Region attended a meeting on Wednesday [27 May] where they presented a fair and reasonable proposal, which offered compromise on certain issues from our members, including pay. That was rejected out of hand, with the existing offer no longer on the table and no plans for the board to meet to discuss any further resolution.

Please sign this petition in support of GMB members within the Royal Pavilions and Museums Trust in dispute with their employer over pay and conditions

When they transferred out of Brighton & Hove City Council in October 2020, members of staff were told their terms and conditions would remain the same for the duration of the 25 year outsourcing contract.

A little more than 5 years later, they are being asked to sign new contracts which severs the link and means they will no longer enjoy the NJC (local government) contract terms.

We are asking any residents of Brighton & Hove, or any tourists or visitors to the Pavilion or any trust site, to sign the below petition in support of these workers:

GMB members 2nd day of strike action at Royal Pavilion & Museums Trust.

The Trust, supported by Brighton & Hove City Council and Labour administration effectively enforcing reduced terms and conditions through fire and rehire, issuing new contracts without their current NJC Local Government terms and conditions.
Members aren't asking from more, just wanting to maintain the terms they currently have that they were assured they would remain on when transferring from the Council to the Trust.

Thanks to everyone that came along and showed support for our members, we call on the Trust to reconsider their position and for the Labour run Council to intervene.
