We are recruiting for an Assistant Buyer to join an established and growing groundworks & civil engineering contractor based in Surrey.
This could be a particularly good opportunity for someone from a builders’ merchant background who is looking to take the next step into construction procurement.
You’ll be working as part of an experienced commercial team, supporting the procurement of:
• Construction materials
• Plant & equipment
• Subcontractor services
• Supplier quotations & orders
The role will involve dealing with suppliers, obtaining and negotiating prices, placing orders and working closely with site and commercial teams to make sure projects have what they need, when they need it.
What they’re looking for:
• Previous buying, purchasing, procurement or merchant experience
• Builders’ merchant experience would be highly desirable
• Good knowledge of construction materials
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
• Confident communicator with good commercial awareness
• Someone looking to build a long-term career within procurement
📍 Leatherhead - office based
💰 £30,000–£35,000 DOE
