Our client is in search for a Plate Mounter for the Day Shift who comes from the flexo printing & packaging industry.

In this role, you will perform specific mounting duties and assists in other areas of the Printing department on an as-needed basis in order to ensure that all printed products meet customer, organizational and legislative specifications and are delivered in a timely manner.

Responsibilities Include but are not limited to:

· Assists in the printing process by operating printing equipment such as, but not limited to, Harley 2 Camera Mounter, JM Heaford Mounter, and performing any combination of the following duties:

* Receives specifications of job orders from Team Lead including, but not limited to; pulls the plates to match the work orders; return plates to inventory when job is complete; coordinates the sending and receiving of plates to and from other supplier/customers in order to ensure jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner.

* Checks plates for defects and determines if plates need to be remade or if older plates can be reused

* Creates the layout and placement of printing plates; using the customer specifications, prepares the plates and utilizing the Mounting machine, optically mounts the plates

* Stages sleeves onto mandrels, remove sleeves from mandrels; assists Press Operator in correcting lifting plates on press; demount plates from sleeves when jobs are complete.

* Performs regular maintenance on Mounter equipment in accordance with prescribed guidelines; performs minor repairs within own scope of expertise and advises supervisor of any repairs required that are outside own area of expertise in a timely manner.

* Maintains the Mounting area in a clean and orderly manner by keeping the area around the equipment clear of debris and performing all other housekeeping duties as required to maintain a clean and safe working environment.

* Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Minimum High School Diploma

· Minimum 1-2 years related experience in a related role

· Thorough understanding of the Harley 2 Camera Mounter/JM Heaford Mounter and the ability to operate, and perform minor repairs and maintenance

· Excellent ability to multi-task with good organizational and prioritization skills

· Excellent ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment which includes shift changes and product variation

· Good knowledge of how printing processes effect the quality of product

· Basic mechanical aptitude in order to perform simple repairs and maintenance

· Good written and verbal communication skills (English)

· Ability to work under moderate pressure in order to meet tight deadlines imposed by circumstances beyond own control

· Team player able to relate with all levels of staff

Laminator Operator:

Reporting to the Night Shift Team Lead the Laminator Operator will supply the customer with laminated structure that consistently meets expectations through efficient operation of equipment.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a Night Shift Position (10:00pm - 6:00am)

Understanding and proper application of all safety rules, regulations and procedures including proper personal protective equipment and safe manufacturing practices.

Maintain all company health and housekeeping standards

Perform minor mechanical work on Laminator

Enter information into company recording system proficiently

Identify information for job kit and job docket

Understand and choose proper cylinder for adhesive

Clean and change cylinders accordingly
Help Scheduler create schedule in order to ensure minimal downtime/changeover times and maximum utilization of Adhesives

Communicate with on-coming Operators at shift change to ensure smooth transition of work

Clean and maintain condition of treater as required

Set-up and operate laminator
Assist with loading and unloading of materials

Supply lab with the required samples
Perform lab checks

Paperwork and accurate reporting
Colour management
Accurate reporting of production and downtime

Ensure all checks for safety, quality and production requirements are completed
Perform other duties as directed

The selected candidate will perform printing duties to ensure that all printed products meet customer, organizational and legislative specifications and are delivered in a timely manner.

This position is for the afternoon shift (2:00pm – 10:00pm Monday to Friday)

Responsibilities:

Operates a 6 (six), 8 (eight), 10 (ten) colour press, performing any combination of the following duties:
Reviews all job orders in a timely manner to determine job specifications such as, but not limited to, production time, colour sequence and quantities required, and advises press helper of these specifications in order to ensure jobs are completed in a timely and accurate manner

Assists in the printing process of all poly products by performing any combination of the following duties:
Assists with the loading of sleeves onto mandrels and into the press.

Sets up the Press, runs test print and checks samples for ink coverage, alignment and registration

Monitors regular press run for quality consistency using computer control console and makes adjustments as required in order to ensure the print job runs accurately, and there is no lost or down time in the printing process.

Performs regular maintenance on print and press equipment in accordance with prescribed guidelines; performs repairs within own scope of expertise and advises supervisor of any repairs required that are outside own area of expertise in a timely manner.

Operates plant equipment including, but not limited to, the Raymond Reach Truck in a safe manner on an as needed basis.

Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum High School graduation.
Minimum 3 (three) years experience in a related role
Thorough understanding of the 6/8/10-colour CI process and the ability to operate, repair and maintain a variety of printing and press equipment
Ability to operate a Raymond Reach Truck; Reach Truck license required.
Excellent ability to multi-task with good organizational and prioritization skills
Excellent ability to adapt to a fast paced, changing work environment which includes shift changes and product variation
Good knowledge of how printing processes effect the quality of product
