We assist children and youth in need of care that is safe, supportive, and engaging. Our foster homes are Trauma-Informed, focus on the benefits of building healthy and trusting relationships as a primary therapeutic approach and work from a strengths-based model, utilizing wrap-around services for both the children and youth we work with and the people that care for them. We strive to maintain a

family feel, while still providing the extensive supports and services often required by the children, youth, and families we work with. We work hard as a team to foster lifelong relationships with caring adults that enable and empower children and young people to rebuild their lives. We recruit dynamic, creative and compassionate individuals that are willing to share their home, their skills, and their patience, and their sense of humour with us and the young people in our care. We are always looking for professional minded people that are willing to join our team as Foster Care Providers. It is challenging, involved and ever-changing, but it is rewarding, rejuvenating and inspiring. As commonly stated in foster care sites across the globe “It is the hardest job you will ever love.”

Play is more than something children do to pass the time.

For children and youth, play can be a way to connect, communicate, process emotions, build confidence, and feel safe with the people around them.

For children and youth in care, simple moments of play — a board game, sidewalk chalk, catch in the backyard, baking together, a trip to the park — can help build trust and create meaningful memories.

This International Day of Play, we’re celebrating the power of joy, connection, and safe relationships.

June is Pride Month — a time to celebrate inclusion, acceptance, and the right for every person to feel safe being who they are.

At Satori Foster, we believe every child and youth deserves to feel seen, respected, and supported. For LGBTQ+ children and youth in care, a safe and affirming home can make a meaningful difference.

Creating belonging starts with compassion, listening, and making space for each young person to be fully themselves.

As the school year winds down, many children experience a mix of emotions.

Changes in routine, upcoming summer plans, school endings, and uncertainty can all feel big, especially for children in care. What looks like irritability, withdrawal, clinginess, or frustration may simply be a child trying to navigate another transition.

At Satori, we know that consistency, reassurance, and connection can make a real difference during times of change.

Sometimes, extra support matters most in the in-between moments.

Graduation season is about more than caps, gowns, certificates, and ceremonies.

For children and youth in care, milestone moments can carry big emotions. They may feel proud, excited, nervous, reflective, or unsure — sometimes all at once.

Whether it’s kindergarten, Grade 8, high school, college, university, a training program, or a personal achievement, every milestone deserves to be recognized.

Showing up matters. Taking photos matters. Saying “I’m proud of you” matters.

Because every child and youth deserves someone in their corner, cheering them on.

Being a foster caregiver can change a life in ways both big and small.

It can mean:

💚 giving a child a safe place to sleep
💜 creating stability during a difficult time
💙 helping a child feel seen, heard, and cared for
💛 supporting routines like school, meals, and bedtime
🤍 showing a child that trusted adults do exist
❤️ building confidence, connection, and hope

Sometimes, life-changing impact does not come from one big moment. It comes from everyday care, consistency, and compassion.

If you have ever thought about becoming a foster caregiver, you may be able to make more of a difference than you realize.

Many people assume they need to have all the answers before becoming a foster caregiver.

The truth is, children need caring adults who are willing to show up with patience, compassion, and consistency. You do not need to be perfect. You just need to be open to learning, supporting, and making space for a child who needs care.

At Satori, foster caregivers come from many different backgrounds, but they all share one thing in common: a willingness to make a difference.

If you’ve ever wondered whether fostering could be right for you, this may be your sign to learn more.
