Play is more than something children do to pass the time.
For children and youth, play can be a way to connect, communicate, process emotions, build confidence, and feel safe with the people around them.
For children and youth in care, simple moments of play — a board game, sidewalk chalk, catch in the backyard, baking together, a trip to the park — can help build trust and create meaningful memories.
This International Day of Play, we’re celebrating the power of joy, connection, and safe relationships.
