Farm & Food Care Ontario

Farm & Food Care Ontario Farm & Food Care Ontario is growing public trust and consumer confidence in farming and food by working collaboratively with Ontario farmers and food partners.

July 2021 update: We have just learned that someone is falsely representing themselves as a FFCO agent & recruiting foreign workers to come to Canada at great personal cost. This is a scam. FFCO does NOT facilitate immigration to Canada or arrange contracts for Temporary Foreign Workers. Farm & Food Care is a coalition of farmers and associated businesses proactively working together with a commit

ment to provide credible information and strengthen sustainable food and farming for the future. We encourage you to interact on our page, however since we unfortunately cannot monitor every conversation, Farm & Food Care expects that users will not post content that falls into the following categories and reserves the right to remove postings that are:

Eat the season: Ontario grapes are here.

Harvest season has arrived, and Ontario grapes are at their peak. Sweet, crisp, and full of flavour, they're perfect for lunches, charcuterie boards, fruit salads, or simply enjoyed by the handful.

With vineyards stretching across some of Ontario's most scenic regions, grape season is one more reason to celebrate local food.

Every bite has a story.

The fresh fruits and vegetables we enjoy don't make it from the field to our plates on their own.

Behind every harvest are people whose dedication, skill, and hard work help grow, care for, and harvest the food we eat every day.

More than a Migrant Worker gives you the opportunity to hear directly from seasonal agricultural workers as they share their own stories, experiences, and the people they are beyond the work they do.

Take a few minutes to hear their voices, learn about their journeys, and discover an important part of Canada's food system that often goes unseen.

• The other 90% is made up of grain corn, used to make animal feed, ethanol, alcohol, and many other products.
• Grain corn is made up of kernels on the cob, used to feed livestock, make fuels, and used as an ingredient in other foods.
• In silage corn, the whole plant is harvested as feed for livestock.

From fresh produce to frozen, canned, and prepared foods, Ontario-grown fruits and vegetables are enjoyed in homes, restaurants, and schools every day.
