This weekend, Dawson and Alex had a great time representing Workforce Inc. at the Sudbury Smash & Dash Disc Golf Tournament!

We were proud to sponsor such a fun event held at the Lions Club of Sudbury Disc Golf Course and connect with members of the local disc golf community.

Alex won a prize for closest to the pin, and Dawson came 3rd in the hot dog eating competition... which would have been more impressive if there had been more than 3 participants. 🌭😂

A big thank you to Mike Joncas for organizing a fantastic event. We had a blast!

On Monday night, Sam and Isabelle had the opportunity to attend an inspiring event hosted by the , featuring Canadian entrepreneur, investor, bestselling author, and Dragon’s Den star as the keynote speaker.

She shared her experiences in business and leadership with a refreshing mix of wisdom, honesty, and humour. One of the evening’s biggest laughs came when she joked that at 69 years old, she “just doesn’t give a s**t anymore”… a frank reminder of the confidence that comes from experience and staying true to yourself.

When asked what makes a great leader, Arlene’s response was simple yet powerful: “You have to have the confidence that you have the right to your opinion.”

She also challenged the way many women view leadership. Traits such as kindness, caring, reaching out, mentoring, and nurturing are often seen as “just being supportive” rather than leadership qualities. Arlene reminded us that these qualities are leadership and that leading with empathy, connection, and compassion is just as impactful as leading from the front.

As an added bonus, Sam had the opportunity to meet Arlene, a memorable moment for a longtime admirer of her leadership, entrepreneurship, and advocacy for women in business.

They left the evening feeling inspired to embrace our voices, recognize the value of our unique strengths, and lead with confidence and authenticity.

Thank you to the Regional Business Centre for hosting such an empowering event!

It’s been a busy few days for our Thunder Bay Account Manager, Anthony Fazzari!

Last week, Anthony had the pleasure of travelling to Red Lake for the Shared Spirits Events, which included a workshop, trade show, and a fantastic day of golf at the Red Lake Golf and Country Club. It was a great opportunity to connect with partners, celebrate collaboration, and build relationships within the community.

A sincere thank you to the incredible team at Shared Spirits for hosting such a meaningful event. Workforce Inc. was honoured to be part of this special gathering and looks forward to continuing to strengthen these partnerships.

Anthony also joined the community at the 11th Annual Thunder Bay Mining Day at Marina Park! From dressing like a miner and trying your hand at gold panning to learning about the many exciting career opportunities available in the mining sector, it was a fantastic day for all ages.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Workforce Inc. booth to chat with us about career opportunities across Northwestern Ontario. We appreciate the chance to connect with our community and share more about the rewarding opportunities available in our industry.

A special thank you to the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors who helped make both events a success!

What an incredible event to be part of.

Our General Manager, Steve McNeil, had the honour of serving as Emcee at this year’s Ontario Mine Rescue Gala, an event that highlights the skill, dedication, and preparedness of mine rescue teams from across the province.

From realistic emergency simulations to the countless volunteers and industry professionals working behind the scenes, the competition is a true testament to the commitment our industry has to safety.

We were also proud to see our sister company, Unmanned Aerial Services Inc. (UAS), supporting the event as a sponsor, helping recognize and celebrate the teams and individuals who make this competition possible.

Congratulations to this year’s winners and to every team that participated. Your professionalism, courage, and teamwork continue to set the standard for mine rescue excellence.
