“My name is Rhiana Carlson. I am a 23-year-old proud Aboriginal woman who recently completed the Get Into Care industry course through Yilabara. I am grateful for the opportunity to take part in the course and gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience within the care industry. Completing the course has given me a better understanding of the opportunities available to me and has encouraged me to think about where this pathway could take me in my career.”

Over the past four weeks, a deadly group of First Nations women took part in the Get Into Care Program! This program is designed to give participants the knowledge, skills, and confidence they need for entering careers in the Care Sector.

Yilabara had the pleasure of partnering with Generations Australia, who delivered the program and provided our First Nations women with practical preparation, industry insight, and support. The Get Into Care program was delivered by trainer Aunty Syliva from Giinagay Community Care.

A massive Congratulations to our participants for completing the program! We admire your commitment and dedication, and look forward to standing by your side as you enter the Care sector. A big thank you to Generation Australia for partnering with Yilabara and helping create opportunities for First Nations women to build careers in an industry where they can make a real difference. Thank you to Aunty Sylvia and Rochelle for supporting our participants throughout the program, and sharing Culture on graduation day.
