Meet our co-founders, Alex Ellis and Michael Fernandes ๐
Their story started in 1991, in the school playground in Buckinghamshire, UK.
Alex was five, Michael was four, and neither of them had any idea they'd end up building a business together on the other side of the world.
They sat next to each other in Business Studies and spent the next 30 years staying close friends.
Both ended up in medical recruitment, Alex running Anaesthetics, Michael running Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
In 2019, they set out to create a new benchmark for service and attitude in medical recruitment. BluePrint Medical was planned over coffees at the Novotel in Brighton-Le-Sands and launched from a single rented desk in a friend's office.
Then, nine months in, COVID hit. The whole team moved to working from home overnight, with no idea what came next.
Nearly eight years later, we're a team of 40+ across BluePrint Medical and BluePrint Nursing, and just moved into our 4th Sydney office (every move gets us a little closer to Circular Quay, which has become a running joke of its own).
Alex now leads BluePrint Medical, Michael leads BluePrint Nursing and they've kept the friendship at the centre of everything.
If you ask them what advice they'd give themselves on day one, it's the same line Michael was given by a mentor at the start:
Next up? Office number 4, new revenue streams across both businesses, and ambitious global growth plans for the future.
P.S. We're hiring across both businesses. Get in touch if you'd like to be part of what's next.
