It was a privilege for JOBsmith Recruitment to be involved as a partner at Master Joiners Incorporated’s Industry Day 2026 at Parliament on the 22nd September 2026.
Held in the Legislative Council Chamber, it was a fitting setting for a day focused on New Zealand’s joinery manufacturing industry — particularly with the beautiful timber work throughout the room.
The day brought together people from across joinery, manufacturing, trades, government and industry, with a wide range of discussions around the issues affecting the sector.
We heard from Chris Bishop, Brad Olsen, Immigration New Zealand, BRANZ, Ministers and industry representatives, covering topics including the economic and manufacturing outlook, skilled labour and immigration, vocational training, timber and forestry, building research and innovation, and the future of the industry.
As a recruitment business working across trades, manufacturing, engineering and technical roles, it was great for JOBsmith to be part of those conversations and to hear directly from the people working in and supporting the industry.
A big thank you to the Master Joiners team for putting together such a worthwhile day and for allowing JOBsmith to be involved.
