They’re heading to the STEM Racing World Finals! 🏎️🌍

A huge good luck to the talented students from Scarborough UTC who have earned the opportunity to take their work onto the world stage.

The team will be competing internationally through STEM Racing, putting their engineering, problem-solving, teamwork and technical skills to the test against teams from around the world.

They’re already well on their way towards their fundraising goal, and we’re really pleased to be supporting their journey through Castle’s Community Giving Fund.

Opportunities like this give young people experiences and skills that can stay with them long after the competition is over. We can’t wait to see how they get on.

A pretty good week to be part of Team Castle 💜

Sunday was all about family, friends, four-legged team members and the Yorkshire coast, as Kerry welcomed everyone to her chalet for a Castle family beach day 🐾🌊

Then on Monday, it was time for a slightly different kind of teamwork…

After hitting some fantastic group targets this year, the team headed to the escape rooms to celebrate together 🔐

We spend a lot of time talking about targets, meetings and everything happening across Castle, but days like these are just as important.

Getting away from our desks. Celebrating what we've achieved together. Meeting the partners and families we hear so much about. And making time to actually enjoy being a team.

Being locked in a room together immediately after a busy family weekend was the ultimate test of team spirit 😂

Apparently it's only August... someone forgot to tell Pip! 🐷🎄

Meet the newest (and most enthusiastic) member of our Key Accounts team.

While the rest of us are still thinking about summer, Pip is already preparing for one of the biggest Christmas operations of the year, helping to build the team behind thousands of festive favourites.

And he's going to need some help!

We're recruiting people to join our Pigs in Blankets team, offering:
💷 £12.84 per hour
⏰ 6am–2pm or 2pm–10pm shifts
💰 Weekly pay
🚌 Free transport from Scarborough for your first two weeks
🚗 On-site parking
⭐ Temp-to-perm opportunities

A day at the beach with a very important purpose 💙🌊

Our MD Kerry used one of her Castle CSR days this week to volunteer with the Andrew McGeown Legacy Fund's SwimSafe programme on Scarborough's North Bay.

SwimSafe teaches children and young people vital lessons about staying safe in the sea and open water. This year, 716 young people took part on the Yorkshire Coast, bringing the total reached through the programme over the past ten years to almost 10,000.

We're incredibly lucky to have initiatives like this in our local community and people willing to give their time to make them happen.

A huge well done to everyone involved, and to all the young people who took part this summer 💙

Apparently there’s more than one way to watch an eclipse at Castle… 🌒

Some of the team came prepared with eclipse glasses.

Some reached for welding masks.

And others got slightly more creative with cereal boxes. 😂

It might have been out of working hours, but that didn’t stop the Castle group chat filling up with everyone’s eclipse viewing attempts from across Yorkshire!

We love the little moments like this that show the team spirit carries on beyond the working day too.

This month, we're celebrating an incredible milestone as Nikki Holmes marks 10 years with Castle Employment Solutions.

With more than 25 years' recruitment experience, Nikki has built lasting relationships with clients and candidates across Yorkshire, earning a reputation for her honest approach, market knowledge and commitment to finding the right fit.

Over the past decade, she's supported businesses across a variety of specialist desks and, more recently, has returned to where her recruitment career began – permanent transactional finance recruitment.

Today, Nikki works with businesses across engineering and manufacturing, food and FMCG, professional services and commercial sectors, helping them recruit talented finance professionals in roles including Accounts Assistants, Purchase Ledger, Credit Control, Payroll and Finance Assistants.

Today we're celebrating Katelyn's first anniversary since returning to Castle. 🎉

Having previously been part of the team, we're delighted she chose to come back and continue building the strong relationships she's known for across the engineering and manufacturing sector.

Over the past year, Katelyn has established herself as a specialist in structural steel and welding recruitment, supporting clients with hard-to-fill technical roles and helping skilled candidates find opportunities on some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects.

Whether she's recruiting coded welders, fabricators or platers, Katelyn takes the time to understand both the technical requirements of the role and the people behind every placement. It's that honest, straightforward approach that has helped her build lasting relationships with clients and candidates alike.

Like many of our consultants, Katelyn's experience has evolved over time, having also supported industrial and construction recruitment. That breadth of knowledge gives her a real understanding of the industries and businesses she works with every day.
