From accidental applicant to award-winning Accommodation Manager 🌟

For Jacqui, Accommodation Manager at Sandford Holiday Park, a trip to support a friend at a recruitment open day turned into the start of an incredible career with Parkdean Resorts.

Starting as a deep cleaner at Lower Hyde, Jacqui quickly discovered a passion for hospitality, teamwork and creating exceptional guest experiences. Through hard work, determination and the support of inspiring leaders along the way, she progressed from cleaner to supervisor, Assistant Accommodation Manager, and ultimately achieved her dream role as Accommodation Manager

When the opportunity came at Sandford, Jacqui embraced the challenge. By rebuilding trust, strengthening processes and investing in her team, she helped transform the department's performance.

We are proud to partner with Newcastle United Foundation to create meaningful career pathways for young people across the North East.🤝

Our new employability initiative is designed to break down barriers to work and support the next generation in building long-term careers in hospitality.

Through an initial pilot at Ashington Hub and our Sandy Bay and Cresswell Towers parks, 15 young people aged 17–24 took part in a week-long programme focused on confidence building, CV writing and interview preparation.📝

Hearing directly from our General Managers gave participants real insight into career progression at Parkdean Resorts, and the results speak for themselves.

✨ 87% of attendees were offered roles, with ongoing support provided to others as they continue their journey into employment.

Following this success, we’re excited to expand the programme across all North East parks, opening up even more opportunities.

💬 Lee Smith, Senior Community Manager at Newcastle United Foundation, said: “This experience has been truly transformational for our young people who are now taking their first steps into the world of work – we would like to thank Parkdean Resorts for making this opportunity possible.”

We love seeing our team members get creative with their fundraising efforts in support of our charity partner, Make-A-Wish UK! ✨

From row-athons and swimathons to bake sales, our people are passionate about supporting causes that matter.

🚣 At Sandford Holiday Park, the team came together to row the distance of the English Channel, and rowed an incredible 160,107 metres over three days!

🏊 At Regent Bay Holiday Park, the team ‘baked a wish’ and brought 30 participants together, including team members, owners and members of the local community, for a sponsored swim.

💃 At Ty Mawr Holiday Park, the team hosted an incredible day packed with raffles, activities, party dances, production shows and Starland Krew appearances. They also welcomed the Fire Brigade and Police for the children, helping create an absolutely amazing atmosphere from start to finish. The event raised an incredible £1,104.11.

Every pound raised goes towards granting life-changing wishes to children living with critical and life-threatening illnesses. Thank you to everyone who has taken part, donated, baked, swam, rowed, danced and cheered along the way.

And the fundraising doesn’t stop there - other parks across the business are continuing to support this amazing cause, so keep an eye out for more fantastic events and fundraising efforts still to come! 💙

From collecting glasses in the sports bar to becoming a Sales Advisor at Trecco Bay, Frazer’s journey at Parkdean Resorts is all about growth, resilience, and taking on new challenges. 👏

Over the past 5 years, Frazer has worked his way through multiple roles across the business — starting in Food & Beverage as a glass collector, progressing to Restaurant Supervisor, then Lead Supervisor in Bars, before making the move into Holiday Home Sales earlier this year.

Looking for more career progression, a fresh challenge, and new opportunities, Frazer joined the Holiday Home Sales team in March and hasn’t looked back. 💫

His advice for anyone considering a career in Holiday Home Sales?

“You’ve got to be resilient and reset every day. Every day is different, so staying positive and focused is key.”

Sales can be challenging, but for Frazer, the opportunity to grow, challenge himself, and build a rewarding career has made it all worthwhile. 💙

Meet Harry Perkins, Maintenance Manager at Highfield Grange 👋🛠️

Harry’s journey is a great example of career progression within Parkdean Resorts. Starting out five years ago as a Maintenance and Grounds Operative with little industry experience, he brought enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn.

Since then, with the support, training, and opportunities available across the business, Harry has progressed through several roles - stepping up to Assistant Manager after around three years, and now proudly working as Maintenance Manager for the past seven months.🌟

Harry said: I’m incredibly grateful for the encouragement and support I’ve received throughout my career at Parkdean Resorts. What I enjoy most is helping create the best possible experience for our guests, taking pride in maintaining high standards across the park and ensuring guests have an enjoyable stay 🏡✨

My advice to anyone considering a career with Parkdean Resorts is to take every opportunity to learn and develop. If you’re hardworking, motivated, and willing to push yourself, there is real potential to grow your experience and progress your career.”
