Job Role: ADHOC Customer Service Assistant

Locations :
• Maidstone East station
• Ashford international station
• Borough Green station
• West Malling station
• Bearsted station
• Harrietsham station
• Lenham station
• Charing station
• Barming station

Pay Rate: £12.21

Dates: 23/05/2026 until the 31/05/2026

Shifts: Shift timings are as early as 06:00am - Latest finish is 00:00am Note you need to be able to get to the station on time and get home.

Ontrak Recruitment & Training are currently seeking committed and outgoing cleaners to join our valued and long-standing clients on the Railways.

This fantastic opportunity will not only benefit your pocket as our rates of pay are competitive but will also kick start your career within a customer service position.

Please note:

Ontrak UK LTD is a temporary agency who recruit candidates for projects and temp roles. This means we are solely depending on the clients requests and this is subject to change weekly. Hours each week can differ and you could receive up to 72 hours a week, but this is never guaranteed. Projects can come to an end whenever the client requests it to and hours can reduce at any point they ask.

What makes working for Ontrak so good?

We pay for your training, and not only that we pay you whilst training! You will receive COSHH and customer service training, provided by experienced railway trainers. You will also have a dedicated member of our staff to work closely with you throughout your career with us.

Due to this position being customer-facing, we have a statutory duty (under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that all post holders have a sufficient command of spoken English/Welsh to effectively meet the job requirements.

What does a customer service assistant do?

Provide an impeccable customer service experience to customers and passengers on the railway.
Being vigilant and visible to all customers and other members of staff
Assisting customers with the usage of lifts and luggage
Communicate effectively with other staff and passengers in the interests of safety and customer service using information systems as supplied.
Report any anti-social behaviour with little disruption to other passengers as per the Railway Bylaws.
Must be confident in approaching passengers and helping with travel queries
Always bringing and outgoing and positive attitude to the station
Must be able to problem solve
Constantly proactive during the day helping where needed
Consistently being proactive up and down the platforms and through the stations
Helping with extra tasks asked by the client
Making clear announcements to passengers who enter and exit the station depending on the event
There are some hurdles of course….

· You must be able to get to your location of work for a 5am start and the latest finish could be as late as1am. Most shifts are around 8 hours but there is an opportunity to work up to 12 hours!

· You will need to pass a Drugs and Alcohol Medical.

· You will need to pass a DBS.

· You will need to provide valid Identification, work permit (if applicable) and proof of National Insurance.

· You must have previous exceptional customer services experience in a similar position.

· Must be flexible to work shifts times, earlies, lates and weekends. You will be on a rota basis.

· Must be available immediately as these are temporary ongoing positions.
