Forklift Operator / Yard Operative

Rutherglen Temporary Ongoing Position Monday to Friday | 7:30am - 4:30pm

Driver Hire Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established fencing company based in Rutherglen, for a Forklift Operator / Yard Operative to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis.

Duties Include:
-Operating a counterbalance forklift truck
--Loading and unloading delivery vehicles
Moving stock and materials around the yard
-General yard maintenance and tidying duties
-Assisting with stock organisation
-Manual handling and physical lifting as required

Requirements:
-Valid RTITB Counterbalance Forklift Certificate (essential)
-Previous forklift and yard experience preferred
-Ability to undertake physical work and manual handling duties
-Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
-Must be local to the area or have your own transport due to the early start time

🚛 Temporary Office Administrator – Uddingston

We’re looking for a Temporary Office Administrator to join our client in Uddingston, supporting their Traffic Team across their Palletforce and general haulage operations.

This is a varied, fast-paced role with a strong focus on administration, organisation and supporting the day-to-day running of their transport operation.

What will you be doing?

📋 Uploading PODs to their internal systems and customer portals
🚛 Manifesting consignments, ensuring they are correctly priced and allocated to the appropriate drivers
📊 Assisting with KPIs and reporting
☎️ Handling phone calls and assisting drivers where required
🗂️ General office administration, including debriefing, scanning and uploading documents
🤝 Supporting the wider Traffic Team with day-to-day tasks
🔧 Carrying out any other reasonable duties as required by the business

🕘 Hours

Monday to Friday
9:00am – 5:30pm
8-hour working day with a 30-minute unpaid break

📅 Contract

This is a minimum 3-month temporary position, with the opportunity to become a permanent member of the team for the right candidate.

💷 Pay

£12.71 per hour, in line with our current office staff rate.

Driver Hire is recruiting for a Class 2 (Category C) Driver to support our client, a busy laundry operation based in East Kilbride. This role starts ASAP and is temp with potential for long term work.

Requirements
To be considered, you must have:
A valid Class 2 (Category C) licence
A valid CPC card
A valid Digital Tachograph (Digi) card
Good physical fitness and the ability to handle manual work
Shift Pattern & Hours

Monday to Monday with occassional Saturdays
Start time: 6:00 AM
Maximum 48 hours per week

About the Role
This is a varied position involving:
Working as a driver’s mate supporting another Class 2 driver
Driving independently in a Class 2 truck or Luton van with a tail lift
Delivering and collecting laundry from hotels, guest houses, student accommodation, army sites, and other customers
Handling laundry bags (up to 20kg) and rolling cages (up to 200kg)
Loading/unloading cages, swapping clean and dirty bags, and occasionally carrying bags up stairs
This is a hands on, physically demanding role. You must be comfortable:
Pushing and manoeuvring heavy rolling cages
Lifting and carrying laundry bags
Working in varied environments with different access conditions

Salary: £33,900 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:30am–5:00pm, plus every second Saturday 8:00am–12:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join a busy building materials distribution team on a permanent basis.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced HGV Class 2 driver looking to join a well-established business, with HIAB training provided for the right candidate.

The Role
• Deliver building materials to customers and sites
• Load and unload materials safely and efficiently
• Operate the vehicle responsibly and in line with company procedures
• Provide excellent customer service at delivery locations
• Complete relevant paperwork and delivery documentation
• Work closely with the branch and warehouse teams

Working Hours
