This page is limited to an audience of 18+ years, and members of the community are free to speak their minds in language they choose. Double Demerits are in place in NSW and ACT for 12 consecutive days from 24 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 over the Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day period, inclusive.

The double demerit point scheme applies for the following offences:
• Speeding.
• Illegal use of mobile phones.
• Not wearing a seatbelt or incorrectly wearing a seatbelt.
• Driving with a passenger not wearing a seatbelt or approved restraint, or with a passenger incorrectly wearing a seatbelt or restraint.
• Riding without a helmet.

Over the weekend, Wodonga Mayor Cr Michael Gobel and AlburyCity's Mayor Cr Kevin Mack published an op-ed in the Border Mail on behalf of The Alliance of Councils for Albury Wodonga Region Health Services, reaffirming the group's commitment to advocating for a new hospital on a new site for the region.

According to both Mayors, regional communities are tired of being left behind.

"This is the moment for the government to pause, listen and reset. To restore the 2021 Clinical Services Plan as the guiding framework. To commit to a new, single-site hospital on a new location. To bring all levels of government to the table with a shared responsibility. To engage openly and transparently.

"Our community cannot wait. A sustainable, single-site, purpose-built hospital is the only path to a safe, resilient cross-border health system.

"We fight for it because our residents deserve equitable care, and because our frontline staff deserve facilities that match their dedication. We fight because it is right, and because we will not stand by while our community's health is compromised."

This footage demonstrates a staff member in pursuit of a woman carrying a green and white striped bag who takes care to keep her face down during the course of leaving the Woolworths Central at Myer Centrepoint.

The reason, suspicion of shoplifting.

This occurred today the 3rd of February in the lunch period at 1:29pm.
