We are proud to introduce Adrian Sturt, who brings over 16 years of experience in disability employment, workforce development and inclusive employment.
Thinking Outside the Box When It Comes to Employment
Adrian specialises in job carving – a personalised approach to employment that focuses on what a person can do, rather than what they can't.
Instead of trying to fit someone into a traditional job description, Adrian works with individuals, employers and our Nexus support workers to identify opportunities that match each person's unique strengths, interests and abilities.
How does Adrian support our team and participants?
Helps participants identify their strengths, skills and employment interests.
Guides and mentors our support workers, providing them with the knowledge, tools and practical strategies to help participants explore employment opportunities.
Supports our team to build participants' confidence, independence and workplace readiness.
Works alongside support workers to identify opportunities for job carving and customised employment.
Shares his extensive industry knowledge to help support workers think creatively about employment pathways.
Builds connections with employers and community organisations to explore meaningful opportunities.
Adrian's role is not just about working directly with participants – it's about building the capability of our entire support team.
By sharing his experience and mentoring our support workers, Adrian helps ensure that employment exploration, skill development and confidence building can become part of the everyday supports we provide.
Whether it's helping someone discover a new interest, develop practical workplace skills or take their first steps towards employment, our support workers can draw on Adrian's expertise to guide participants along the way.
