✨ Meet the Team Wednesday Series Finale ✨
Last but certainly not least, we are proud to introduce our CEO, Michael Reese!
What is the best career advice you have ever received?
The best advice I’ve received is to focus on people first and results will follow, and that’s ultimately what led me to define our core values. “Better together” reminds me that real success comes from collaboration, not going it alone. “Mission over commission” keeps the focus on impact, knowing the lives we help matter more than any placement fee. “Be your best self” pushes me and our team to grow, stay disciplined and keep a long-term mindset. “Find a way” reinforces that challenges are part of the job and we don’t back down from them. “Open, honest, direct” ensures we communicate clearly and hold each other accountable. And “No surprises” is about doing what we say and building trust every step of the way. Those values weren’t created in a vacuum, they came from years of learning that when you stay grounded in them, the right outcomes tend to follow.
What is your favorite success story from helping an associate or client?
One that has always stuck with me is a gentleman who came to us right around Thanksgiving after losing his job. He was clearly going through a tough time and wasn’t sure what was next. We were able to place him within a week. When he came in to pick up his first check, he had tears in his eyes. He thanked us and shared that he didn’t know how he was going to provide a Christmas for his kids. That moment puts everything into perspective. It’s not just about filling jobs, it’s about helping people in real, meaningful ways when they need it most.
What makes Express different from other staffing companies?
At Express, we are relationships first. While many in our industry are moving toward more digital, transactional models and looking for ways to reduce cost through automation, we stay focused on the human element. We don’t just match resumes to job descriptions. Our ISO-certified process includes a face-to-face interview with every applicant, along with reference checks and employment verification before we ever present them to a client. That process benefits both sides. For our clients, it means better-qualified, better-aligned candidates. For our associates, it means we take the time to understand what they’ve done, what they want to do and just as importantly, what they don’t want to do. That level of intentionality leads to stronger matches and long-term success.
What is a hobby you enjoy outside of work?
Outside of work, I spend a lot of time on the soccer field. Coaching at the varsity level is something I really enjoy because it gives me the opportunity to mentor players, build relationships and help them grow in confidence and accountability. At the same time, a big part of my life outside of work is centered around my family. We enjoy being outdoors, staying active and supporting each other in everything we’re involved in. A lot of our time naturally overlaps with sports, which makes it even more meaningful. Whether it’s coaching or time with family, it all comes back to investing in people and being part of their growth and development.
Our team continues to grow, evolve, and stay rooted in what matters most, helping people find meaningful work and helping businesses succeed!
