Is post-birth bleeding normal? 🩸
In most cases, yes. Lochia (bleeding and discharge after you give birth) helps your body clear out what’s left in the uterus.
You may notice the colour change over time: red at first, then brown, then a yellow-white discharge. Many mums see lochia taper off over 4–6 weeks.
Call your healthcare provider if you soak a pad in an hour, pass large clots, feel dizzy, run a fever, or notice a strong, unpleasant smell.
