Rotherwood Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to join a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Yeadon.

Location: Yeadon
Salary: Up to £35,000 DOE – negotiable for the right candidate
Job Type: Permanent
Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm
Flexible working: Available

About the Role

This is a varied senior position with a strong focus on VAT, bookkeeping and client accounts. You will manage your own portfolio of clients, prepare and submit VAT returns, complete reconciliations and liaise directly with clients.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years' bookkeeping experience, preferably within an accountancy practice, with strong VAT knowledge and experience using Xero or similar accounting software.

You will also have the opportunity to support, review and train junior members of the team.

Location: Bingley
Contract: 6 months
Day Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:00pm
Night Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00pm–5:00am
Pay: £14.00 per hour

About the Role

You will be responsible for operating and monitoring machinery, maintaining quality standards, following health & safety procedures and working as part of a busy production team.

Previous machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience in belting, printing, flexible packaging, flooring manufacture or similar

Sage training and practical experience – essential
Previous bookkeeping/accounts experience
AAT or similar accounting qualification – preferred
Good understanding of VAT and financial processes
Experience with payroll, reconciliations and month-end procedures
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good IT and organisational skills
Confident communicating with customers and suppliers
