Kindly note the minimum new domestic worker wages as said by Cabinet as below. A minimum wage means an employer can not pay below the wage but can pay more as they wish. Minimum is the lowest any domestic worker can be paid. If a childminder was earning below 108$ it means she is underpaid. However, a minimum wage is not the actual wage. If your gardener is earning $150, it does not mean you must reduce to $90. Wages respond to the market also meaning various factors affect the salary. As an employer , $108 on 8 rooms , Mt Pleasent with 3 kids might not be sustainable. People go where they are appreciated and will not stay where they are underpaid. Pay according to your pocket, situation and market.

MINIMUM WAGE FOR DOMESTIC WORKERS

The minimum wage for domestic workers will be US$90.

Other workers will be paid as follows:
Yard Worker/ Gardener - $90
Cook/ Housekeeper - $99
Child/Disabled /Aged Minder -$108
Disabled/Aged Minder with Red Cross Certificate - $117

Please note Farmworkers are not included here. They are not domestic workers.

Our client is looking for a qualified and experienced cook for their househould of 2 adults and 2 children. Its mostly western cuisine cooking , generally healthier food options like grilled meats and fish, some stir frys and pastas etc. There is an option to stay in but no family members would be permitted to stay. A cooking qualification and references would be required. Someone with experince as a private cook is preffered.
