🤔 The worst question at the first interview?

"What is the salary for the position?"

At that moment, pure horror is reflected in the eyes of some recruiters.

Like what?! Does the candidate have the audacity to ask about the SALARY?!

After all, we haven't had time to talk about corporate culture, fruit Wednesdays and table football in the kitchen!

Yes, I know.

It's a shock.

People don't go to work to enjoy a corporate roll-up in an open-space.

They go there to earn money.

And since money pays bills, mortgage, kindergarten and vacation, it is completely logical that they ask about it first.

Because they work in a company because of their salary.

Everything else is just the reason why they work in company A and not in company B.

🛒 It's the same as when you go to the store.

You won't buy shoes without a price tag just because the salesperson enthusiastically shows you what the "amazing atmosphere" is like in the store.

Salary is the price tag of work.

And if someone shows it to you at the end, it's about as fair as if you found out the price at the checkout.

So if you're offended that a candidate wants to know how much they'll get for their work, maybe the problem isn't with the candidate.

Maybe the problem is that you have more text about "company values" than numbers in the offer.

selling, providing support and knowledge of agronomic products to customers.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Responsible for selling and marketing specific products and agronomic services to customers
such as fertilizer, stock feeds, chemicals, seed among others.
• Develop and maintain close customer relations with key customers by providing professional
agronomic service and advice
• Develop and implement agronomic marketing plans to support organization plans and budget
• Arrange and coordinate various technical and marketing activities, these may include field
days, farmer meetings, demonstration trials and trial sites
• Maintain industry awareness regarding technical developments via networking, personal
development and training
• Organize or act as the liaison between the company and farmers to organize trial programs
and assist with analysing and reporting results
• Develop and implement long term agronomic plans and practices to support
organization/farm plans and budgets to maintain maximum sales
• Provide advice regarding crop husbandry and crop rotation to farmers
• Be able to analyse and interpret soil results and make recommendations of products to
farmers

We are looking for an Accountant who will be in charge preparing financial reports and analyzing financial information to identify and maintain a record of profit and loss, assets, liabilities, tax records, tax liabilities, incoming cash flow, outgoing cash flow and other financial activities within our company. The job of the Accountant consist of managing, tracking, computing, researching, preparing and analyzing all accounting data such as sales profits, financial loss, expenditures, tax liabilities, salary and compensation, benefits and other company activities that involve funds. The Accountant should prepare financial reports regularly to keep the management of the company up to date with regards to stability of the business.
Job Description:
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Responsible for month end closing process and preparation of financial statements.
• Analysis of monthly general ledger account activity, journal entries, accruals, variances to forecast, and reconciliation of various accounts, fixed asset administration, and various employee benefit accounting.
• Supervision of accounts payable process and accounts receivable billing process
• Payroll input and review to outside payroll vendor.
• Tax compliance support as needed for various state reporting.
• Maintenance of various spreadsheets to support financial transactions and analysis of various expenses.
• Bank reconciliations and various treasury functions, including bank liaison and cash flow management between various bank accounts and entities.
• Assist in preparation of audit work papers for year-end audits with outside auditors.
• Participate in the annual budget process for the Company and interim forecasting.
• Respond to internal and external customer requests as appropriate.
• Assist company in executing company policies and compliance procedures
• Other corporate accounting duties or supervision of duties as assigned.

Core competencies:
• Organized and efficient professional accountant with experience in the field of accounting.
• Has the ability to analyze everything and to solve problems. Also possesses the ability to take timely decisions
• Excellent verbal and written skills of communication
• Honest, trustworthy and sincere with the assigned work
• Efficient enough to perform multiple tasks at a time.
• Great knowledge of using a computer system
• Observe everything in accounting for details.
• Always intended to reach the targets
• Very amiable and courteous towards customers

Qualifications and Experience
• A Certified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CA) with 3 or more years’ experience at a similar role.
• Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years or more experience at a similar role.
• A Master's degree in business administration, will be an added advantage. At least 5 years senior-level experience in managing finance and administration.
• Ability to maintain dynamic working relationships and work with all levels in an organization.
• Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills.
• Strong history of reliable and consistent performance.
• The incumbent must also possess the following essential knowledge and skills:
• Sound and up to date knowledge of accounting concepts, financial reporting standards and donor rules and regulations.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage crises, conflict, and risk. Knowledge of Sage Pastel Evolution.
