Appreciation post,
To someone whose generosity has spoken louder than words ever could.

To: Sir Wicknell We Nguwo chena (Philanthropist)

Thank you for the cars and finances you have given. But more than the cars, thank you for the weight you have lifted off shoulders that were tired. Even those who already have, have troubles too. Thank you for seeing a need and moving without waiting to be asked. Thank you for reminding us that there are still people who use what they have to open doors for others, not to close them.

You did not just hand over keys. You handed over dignity. You gave someone a way to get to work on time, to take their children to school without shame, to chase opportunities that were once out of reach. That is not small. In a world where most people ask “what’s in it for me?”, you answered with action and said “what can I do for you?”

And here is the truth I want all of us to hear......Gratitude itself is a blessing.

When we genuinely celebrate the good that happens to others, we position our own hearts to receive good. It may not come as a car. It may come as an opportunity, a connection, a door that opens when you least expect it, a peace that settles in your home, a favor from someone you never thought would notice you.

Scripture puts it plainly: “It is more blessed to give than to receive” - Acts 20:35. And the flip side is also true, it is blessed to recognize and honor the giving when you see it. A thankful heart is fertile ground.

Bitterness and envy dry the soil. But appreciation waters it, and fruit grows.

Let us learn to celebrate others openly. Do not let jealousy whisper that someone else’s blessing takes something from you. It doesn’t.
Let us say thank you, and mean it. Not just to the giver, but to God and to the community for allowing such generosity to exist among us.
Let us imitate the spirit, even if we cannnit imitate the gift. You may not have a car to give today. But you can give encouragement, time, a fair deal, a kind word, a prayer. That’s how generosity multiplies.

You have shown us what it looks like to be a channel, not a reservoir. May your own life overflow in ways you didn’t see coming. And may the rest of us learn that when we honor generosity with a grateful heart, we invite more of it into our lives and into our community.

Thank you for leading by giving May we all learn to lead by appreciating.
TO GOD BE THE GLORY
