HOSTESS – SEASONAL CONTRACT – 5* ICONIC WINE ESTATE, STELLENBOSCH
PLEASE NOTE – ONLY SA CITIZENS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS ROLE
5* Iconic Wine Estate based in Stellenbosch is currently recruiting for a Hostess on a fixed term seasonal contract up to end March 2025 to join their team and be the first point of contact for their guests. Main purpose of the role will be to ensure & provide excellent guest relations and a pleasant dining experience to their guests.
APPOINTMENT REQUIRMENTS
• Must be a SA Citizen
• Grade 12
• Completed tertiary hospitality training will be highly advantageous
• Preferably 1- 2 years previous hostess experience
• Impeccably groomed & comfortable in dealing with very distinguished clientele
• Good understanding of restaurant etiquette
• Excellent telephone etiquette
• Fluent in English
• Experience in managing reservations
• Able to work in a team
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to monitor the entire dining and bar area
• Availability to work within opening hours (e.g. evenings, public holidays, weekends)
• Good physical condition to walk and stand during an entire shift
• Ability to function in a high-pressure environment
• Drivers license & own reliable transport
KPA’S
• Welcoming guests to the venue
• Es**rt guests to assigned dining or bar areas
• Provide menus and announce waiter/waitress name
• Create a floor plan for both lunch and dinner
• Check with senior chef on duty if there are any changes to the lunch/dinner menus
• Create a list of available tables for lunch
• Create a handover sheet for the next shift
• Greet guests upon their departure
• Maintain hostess desk clean and tidy
• Answer incoming calls and address guests’ queries
• To be well informed on the estate and local info
• Communicate to managers and waiters regarding VIP visits as soon as they are seated
• Be familiar with the reservation policies, such as booking times, etc.
