Human Resources Manager, Cape Town

Job Responsibilities:

Performance Management and Improvement Systems
Formulation of policies and processes on disciplinary process
Leverage market intelligence and industry trends, including target companies and organizations, to build candidate slates
Identify channels to source and recruit diverse candidates and build pipelines of suitable profiles to recruit across different levels in the business.
Spot-check compliance of HRBPs, Managers and Supervisors in documenting cases
Implementation of the Discipline Policy and Code of Conduct
Employee Retention
Formulation of policies and processes with regard to HR
Design, improve and ensure adherence to the Security Policy, Disciplinary Policy, and Learning Agreement
Assist the department heads in designing or improving the Zero Tolerance Policy
Ensure adherence of HR employees on the applicable policies, i.e. Security Policy, Disciplinary Policy, etc.
Vendor Management relationship

Qualifications:

At least 8 years of experience in HR, at least 5 years’ experience as an HR Manager.
Knowledge in Policy Development and Implementation of Code of Conduct
Exposure to Labor Laws and Human Resource functions
Flexible working in rotational/shifting schedule

Payroll Officer, Cape Town

What We’re Looking For:

The Payroll Officer is responsible for maintaining and processing payroll on the in-house payroll system and manages the outsourced payroll function. The person needs to be able to work independently as well as in a team and should have strong attention to detail. The ability to work under pressure, problem solve, administer the payroll system, and remain abreast of statutory and legislative developments and requirements to ensure compliance with payroll audit requirements (across 3 regions). Maintain a high level of confidentiality due to the nature of information.

Payroll Processing

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
US payroll for Exec Ed data (IMS) - Bi-Weekly
Collaborate with academic staff to collate and verify data
Onboarding and Offboarding of employees
Update salary master file bi-weekly
Ensure projects codes are loaded in ADP
Review and approve bi-weekly epip file
Validate epip for payment
Payroll review
Prepare journals for bi-weekly payroll
Off cycle payroll runs and approval
South Africa Bootcamp payroll data (Instructional staff) (100 - 300 ee) - Monthly
Collaborate with academic staff to collate and verify data (contract management)
Onboarding and Offboarding of employees
Time and attendance management
Upkeep of contracts
Payroll review
Prepare journals for payroll
Off cycle payroll runs and approval
Australian payroll (24FTE) (120 Tutors) - Monthly
Collaborate with HRBP to collate and verify data
Onboarding and Offboarding of employees
Collaboration with external payroll service provider to process payroll
Payroll review and approval
Collaborate with Accounts Payable team and HQ Recruitment to collate and maintain data monthly for the annual 1099 submissions
Deel Project
Upkeep of independent contractors
Instructional staff maintenance
Perform calculations for payments
Collaboration with academic staff
Request funding timeously for various payrolls (treasury dept)

Payroll Reconciliation

Reconciling and processing of various in country taxes, benefits and any other third-party service providers
Assist with monthly payroll reconciliations to Trial Balance
Accounting knowledge for general ledger journal postings.
Ensuring that cost centers are correctly allocated in Payroll and in accounting.
Monthly reporting and variances

Relationship Management

Collaboration with various Talent teams and Benefits teams to ensure the accuracy of all Payroll related data / information within the HR / Payroll databases.
Collaboration with AUS stakeholders
Collaboration with AP and Academic team
Collaborate with external various payroll service providers
Responsible for end to end payroll query resolution, internally and externally

SOX

Responsible for payroll SOX compliance
Internal and external audit queries

Things That Should Be In Your Background

Diploma in Accounting/Payroll
HR background and Accounting background
Minimum of 3 years' payroll experience (PaySpace Payroll / VIP payroll an advantage).
Minimum of 2 years' experience in payroll General Ledger reconciliations
Experience in Restricted Stock Units an advantage
