Minimum Requirements:
Grade 12 National Senior Certificate
At least 5 years of experience in sales administration and procurement, particularly in the steel and construction industry
Reports to: Head of Sales
Required Experience:
*Sales Experience: Internal sales experience within the steel and construction sector (minimum 5 years)
*Admin & Procurement Management: Overseeing all internal sales and procurement-related tasks, ensuring efficient inventory control, accurate stock counts, and timely processing of incoming materials
Inventory Management: Coordinating stock counts, inventory processing, reporting, and investigations as required
*Procurement: Managing purchase orders, goods receipts, invoices, vendor relations, buying, and demand forecasting
*Accounting: Handling debtor and creditor processing, resolving financial queries, creating budgets, and managing cash flow reports
*Logistics: Overseeing incoming and outgoing logistics, including planning, outsourcing, and receipting
Key Responsibilities:
*Customer Service: Deliver high-quality service and manage customer queries promptly and efficiently
*Procurement & Cost Management: Source materials at competitive prices, issue purchase orders, manage costs, and control stock purchases as per necessity
*Internal Sales Team Management: Supervise and support internal sales staff, manage day-to-day operations, and ensure team targets are met
*Sales & Marketing: Promote the company’s product range, support after-sales service, and maintain customer relationships
*Reporting & Market Awareness: Track sales reports, stay updated on market trends, and adapt strategies to changing economic conditions
*Quotations & Sales Orders: Issue and follow up on quotations to convert them into sales orders
*New Business Development: Research target customers in new industries, generate and maintain accounts, and drive sales to meet revenue goals
*Supplier Relations: Source long products and plate materials from producer mills and B2B suppliers, processing orders, receipts, and stock management
*Inventory Control: Conduct stock counts, train and manage count teams, perform audits, and generate detailed reports
*Operations Meetings: Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly sales and operations meetings to ensure alignment and address any challenges
Skills Required:
*Strong ability to manage demanding deadlines
*Excellent communication skills for business correspondence and timely feedback
*Proficient in sales reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and logistics planning
*Ability to identify target markets and generate business opportunities in new sectors
*This role is critical in supporting the Tube sales and procurement operations, ensuring both efficiency and exceptional customer service at every stage.
Salary: R45-R50k neg.
