⛳ What a fantastic day at the 6th Annual European Chambers’ Golf Day 2026!

Yesterday, members, business leaders and professionals from across the European and South African business communities came together at Randpark Club for a day of golf, networking and friendly competition. With both courses fully booked, the event was a great success, bringing people together on and off the fairways.

SMME Digital Transformation | Session 2

Thank you to everyone who joined FSACCI and CIBA Industries for the second session of our SMME Digital Transformation series.

The session provided practical insights into turning modernisation priorities into a Process Transformation Blueprint, with discussions on process mapping, technology selection, implementation planning and change management.

It was encouraging to see such high levels of engagement, with participants recognising the value of these tools for their businesses and current projects.

The FSACCI Business W**e Club brought together members of the Cape Town business community last night for an evening of w**e, networking and conversation.

Hosted at 180 Lounger Rooftop Venue, with a selection of w**es from Haute Cabrière, attendees had the opportunity to connect while enjoying the views of Cape Town from the 16th floor.

The Minister of Home Affairs has signed a waiver of the requirement for foreign nationals in South Africa to submit visa renewal applications at least 60 days before their current visa expires, a precondition that has been described as a significant practical stumbling block for visa applicants.

According to Jaco Brits (Head of Immigration), the Xpatweb Team has seen a significant influx of visa refusals where the 60-day requirement was the sole reason for the rejection. This created an additional backlog in Appeal applications, with hundreds of applicants and their families affected.

The latest development is particularly significant because the waiver will apply retrospectively, including to qualifying applications that are currently under Appeal. The Department indicated that the negative decision on affected Appeal applications will be overturned, allowing the underlying visa applications to be processed and issued accordingly.

Once the relevant Appeal applications have been overturned, the applications of affected accompanying family members can also be resolved.

Navanethem “Navi” Pillay has devoted her life to defending human rights. She worked as an anti-apartheid lawyer, served as a judge in international courts and held the position of UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

The 2026 Nobel Peace Prize recognises her efforts to promote peace and international law.

FSACCI and CIBA Industries continue the SMME Digital Transformation Series with Part 2: Your Digital Blueprint on 15 October.
