MR THATANELO DAVID APRIL
Choreographer | Photographer | Arts Administration Facilitator

It is with profound sadness that the South African State Theatre mourns the passing of Mr April—a gifted choreographer, photographer, and arts administration facilitator whose impact will forever resonate within our walls.

Mr April exuded love and light in every interaction. He personified benevolence and carried a heart big enough for everyone he encountered. His presence was a quiet affirmation that you mattered, that you were seen, and that you were loved.

His contributions to the arts and to the nurturing of young talent remain a testament to his passion, generosity, and unwavering humanity.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all who had the honour of walking alongside him.

May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his legacy continue to inspire us all.

In his words: “Lerato ke leo.”
