POLYGRAPH TESTS CAN BE USED TO:
- Inve
stigate cases of missing or stolen assets, stock, money, equipment or other items, or verify the authenticity and accuracy of written statements or an insurance claim;
- Confirm the truth of verbal statements given by witnesses or employees regarding incidents of accidental or deliberate damage to company property, of alleged vehicle hijacking or armed robbery, of internal theft or arson, or of allegations of sexual harassment, for example;
- Verify the degree of involvement of suspects in a crime and to confirm an innocent suspect's alibi or version of events in an investigation;
- Establish the truth and facts concerning an issue under investigation.
TARIFFS FOR POLYGRAPH TESTING:
Pre-employment vetting and periodic screening polygraph tests @ R900.00 per examinee.
Forensic and crime- related polygraph tests @ R1000.00 per examinee.
Travel expenses @ R6.00 per km to and from the client.
SOME FACTS ABOUT POLYGRAPHY:
A polygraph instrument measures changes in the cardiovascular system (heart activity), the respiratory system (breathing patterns) and sweat gland/ electro-dermal activity (skin/stress changes), when the examinee is confronted with specific questions concerning a crime or incident under investigation;
The accuracy of polygraph findings vary between 85% and 95% depending on the test format used;
A polygraph test usually takes about one and half to two hours to conclude;
The client is provided with a written report within 24 hours of the polygraph examination.
