Our client is based in Latin America and is looking for a seasoned mining professional to join their team. You will have the required educational background coupled with the demonstrated experience that will be associated with this role. Fluent in English. Being able to speak Spanish will be an advantage.

• You will have at least 20 years experience and a proven record of accomplishment in building multinational teams & operating mines safely in difficult political environments.
• Broad executive, operations & change management experience across precious and poly metallic mines O/P & U/G worldwide with focus on financing, project management, community & environmental, mentoring & delivering team performance.
• You will demonstrate the following specialties: Building new mines and growing exiting mines in difficult jurisdictions in South America. Strong technical & leadership skills. Extensive base & precious metal mines experience in developing countries.

EXPLORATION GEOLOGIST, MINING SOUTH AMERICA.

The role is based in South America and it would be beneficial if the candidate can speak Spanish but should be fluent in English.

REQUIREMENTS:
• The ideal candidate will preferably have an Msc Degree in geology with at least 10 to 15 years of experience.
• Experience in epithermal gold and silver as well as in Polymetalic gold and silver systems.
• Deep mine experience looking after a range of services including 4 u/g drills, grade control, surface drills etc.
• Extensive experience as a mine geologist to advise and lead the team on the mine.
• Provide exploration geology advice to mine management establishing an extensive drilling plan in order to provide expert opinions on the where and when to be included in the mining plan.
• Will be responsible for identifying and assessing the location, quantity and quality of mineral deposits.

THE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING HANDS ON SKILLS:

• Knowledge of a range of sciences and their applications
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers
• Good organisational skills
• Computer literacy and ability to analyse numerical and graphical data
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Geological mapping, rock recognition, structural geology, knowledge of geochemistry and geophysics, GIS, etc.
• Have demonstrated experience in economic geology.

SENIOR METALLURGIST with 10 years gold mining experience – Mpumalanga.Permanent position available for a Senior Metallurgist in Mpumalanga.

The Senior Metallurgist reports directly to the Operations Manager and works closely with the Group Metallurgist. This position is responsible for all the technical / metallurgical aspects of the operations.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor's degree in metallurgical or chemical engineering;
• Minimum ten (10) years of metallurgical experience in gold processing
• Strong computer skills (i.e. MS Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead, direct, and support all aspects of laboratory test work
• Develop and manage metallurgical operations and work practices that maximize operational efficiencies;
• Improve plant operating performance; reduce waste and delays; promote cost reductions; and achieve a high level of operating efficiency;
• Evaluate current and potential processing improvement methods;
• Monitor and analyze key metallurgical performance indicators of process operations and recommend corrective actions to the operations team;
• Manage metallurgical engineering activities working with the operations team and external consultants;
• Create and distribute monthly metallurgical and engineering reports;
• Maintain a safe and efficient work environment.

MINING TEAM LEADER/COACH - Mine Overseer with a Mine Managers/Mine Overseer Ticket. Be able to speak Portuguese or Spanish. Must have experience in all aspects of hard rock mining, included but not limited to operating winches, operating mechanical loaders, operating rock drill machines, installing box fronts, mining basics and principles. Must have hands on experience and be able to coach employees and be sure that they are properly trained to execute their duties. Co-ordinate his/her efforts and transfer skills pertaining to planning, leading, organizing and controlling to employees. Able to adopt a hands on approach noting that his/her office is underground and note that it will be expected to perform his/her duties in and underground environment daily.
