Information System Assistant: Brainline Montana Branch, Pretoria
(Full-day position)
Brainline is looking for an enthusiastic candidate to join the Brainline Team as an Information Assistant at its branch in Montana, Pretoria.
The successful candidate will serve as an IT assistant for Brainline providing first-line support to clients and employees resolving queries promptly, test and install company hardware and software requirements and support any other company related IT activities.
You will perform various duties. This includes, but is not limited to, the duties listed below.
• Consulting computer users to ascertain needs and to ensure that facilities meet user
requirements
• Install, execute and customize hardware and software systems elements.
• Test IT systems as needed.
• Manage communication platforms as needed.
• Providing user training, support, advice and feedback
• Maintain accurate and complete documentations for company Information System
policies and procedures.
• Prepare data spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and other documents as required.
• Order and stock IT equipment when necessary.
• Resolve customer problems promptly and accurately.
• Report any repairs and maintenance to the relevant party.
• Provide technical assistance.
• Assist in software and hardware upgrades.
• Add or update workstations.
• Perform routine PC maintenance and updates for performance efficiency.
• Supervise and process help desk support requests.
• Assist in maintaining Internet service, firewalls, printers, and telephone systems
• Initiate process improvements to better answer user demands.
• Complete system related task requirements dictated by company IT environment.
• Continuous improvement courses.
Requirements:
• A minimum qualification of a National Senior Certificate. A diploma in IT is preferred.
• A+, N+, MSCE or similar.
• Desktop support and operating system configurations.
• Network installation and error resolution.

• Maintenance of communication equipment.
• Basic server administration and maintenance.
• Liasing with ISPs.
• Experience using various common desktop applications such as Microsoft, IOS, and
Adobe.
• At least 3 – 5 years of work experience in IT.
• Excellent troubleshoorting skills and processes.
• Ability to build positive relationships with a high level of interpersonal skills.
• Excellent skills in interacting with people in a positive and courteous manner.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
• Ability to explain technical issues to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to prioritise tasks according to importance in a fast-paced environment.
• Multi-tasking capability without compromising on quality.
• Responsible, dependable, punctual, with the possibility of working flexible working
hours.
• Valid driver’s license (Code 8) with a reliable vehicle.
