Our client is currently seeking a qualified and experienced Health & Safety Officer to join their site-based team in Cape Town.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation, maintaining ISO 45001 standards, conducting risk assessments, managing incidents, and promoting a strong safety culture on site.
Requirements:
* Diploma in Safety Management or related qualification
* Valid Driverโs License
* CHSO (SACPCMP) registration
* Minimum 5 yearsโ experience in a Health & Safety role
* Strong knowledge of OHS legislation and ISO 45001 systems
* Experience within construction/site-based environments

* SAMTRAC or equivalent
* Alcohol testing

* First Aid Level 1

Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement OHS policies, procedures, plans, and risk assessments
* Ensure compliance with OHS legislation, client requirements, and ISO 45001
* Conduct inspections, audits, and incident investigations
* Monitor SHEQ objectives and compliance on site
* Manage contractor and service provider OHS files
* Facilitate toolbox talks and safety meetings
* Assist with emergency response planning and evacuation procedures
* Compile and submit monthly SHEQ reports
* Identify hazards and implement corrective actions
* Promote and maintain a strong safety culture on site
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on SHE matters
