This e-mail is a dedication to the nationwide petition urging for an extension of Historical Set qualifications and skills programmes until the QCTO, as well as AQP's are prepared. The lack of options at QCTO has raised concern over its effect on SDPs, learners, employers, and overall skill development - resulting in potential job losses particularly within SMEs operating in this industry.
Furthermore, corporate BEE score-carding will also be impacted by these changes which have yet to materialize fully. We must address additional challenges that arise regarding EISAs shortages accredit assessment centres inadequacy alongside delayed turn-around times when applying for a new accreditation from QCTO; otherwise there may be major setbacks down the line if nothing is done about them now!

At this stage there is only one or 2 short courses accredited in the agricultural sector – also non under 20 credits – this will not work for any farmer. Imagine having to send you staff for training away for at least 20 days on a normal Tractor training course – they then have to write an external exam at an assessment centre and all certificates must be issued by the QCTO (still awaiting the extra cost involved).
If your short skills training on your farm expires now (First Aid, Forklift, Tractor Training (Current QCTO accreditation is 43credits) (training will move from 3-5 days to about 20-30 days), Firefighting etc.
You will not be able to renew TILL the QCTO have managed to incorporate these skills profiles into the QCTO framework (not for the next 2-3 years or longer at the pace they are going now). At this stage All short skills will expire before they are able to carry it over to the new QCTO framework.
An extension will allow for business to continue while we get ready and move across to the new QCTO system.

Please do consider signing, if this is of concern to you too…the more signatures can be collected the more we can have our voice heard: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSd_qEtHb30pQo8ErUTPxzXt8amndtSarva89vkdzAcbrj2lJw/viewform?vc=0&c=0&w=1&flr=0

Dear friends and colleagues,

As we approach the joyous season of Christmas, it is a time for us to reflect upon the true meaning of this special holiday. For Christians around the world, Christmas holds deep spiritual significance as we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It serves as a reminder of God's immense love and grace towards humanity.

In Luke 2:11, it is written, "Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord." These powerful words encapsulate the essence of Christmas – the arrival of our Savior who brings hope, redemption, and salvation to all who believe in Him.

During this festive period, let us pause and marvel at the miracle that took place over two thousand years ago in Bethlehem. The humble manger where Jesus was laid reminds us that God chose to enter into our world in a vulnerable and lowly form. His birth signifies humility, simplicity, and a profound example of selflessness.

Christmas also emphasizes the importance of family and community. It is a time when loved ones gather together to share warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. As we exchange gifts with one another, may we remember that ultimately, Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever given to mankind – an indescribable gift that offers eternal life and reconciliation with God.

Amidst the festivities and excitement surrounding Christmas, let us not forget those who are less fortunate or experiencing hardship. This season presents us with an opportunity to extend kindness and compassion towards others – just as Jesus did throughout His earthly ministry. By reaching out to those in need through acts of service and charity, we embody the true spirit of Christmas.

In line with this spirit, we are thrilled to announce that we are ready for GlobalGap v6 in the new year. With its enhanced standards and practices, GlobalGap v6 represents a significant step forward in ensuring the safety, sustainability, and quality of your agricultural products.

In conclusion, as we celebrate Christmas and anticipate the start of GlobalGap v6 in the new year, let us remember the message of love, hope, and unity that this season brings. May our hearts be filled with gratitude for the ultimate gift of Jesus Christ, and may His teachings guide us in our pursuit of a better tomorrow.

Wishing you a blessed Christmas filled with joy, peace, and abundant blessings!
