A little behind the scenes at CyberTED.

People often see the finished course, but not the work that goes into making sure the content is actually clear, useful and practical.

When I review a lesson, I keep asking:

Is this clear?
Is this useful?
Will the learner understand how to apply it?

If the answer is no, I rewrite it.

I want CyberTED learners to feel that somebody genuinely cared whether they understood the lesson — not simply whether the content was uploaded.

That is the standard I’m building CyberTED around.

Nobody taught many of us how to say “I don’t know” professionally.

But pretending to know something when you don’t can damage your credibility far more than admitting you need to check.

A better response:

“I don’t have the answer to that yet. Let me confirm it and come back to you by [time].”

You’re being honest, taking ownership and giving the person a clear expectation.

Professional confidence isn’t knowing everything. It’s knowing how to respond when you don’t.

A new chapter for CyberTED starts today.

We believe learning should do more than give you information. It should help you do something better — at work, in your career and in life.

Exciting times ahead for CyberTED!

Over the next few weeks, I will have the privilege of participating in the Saldanha Bay Municipality Youth Development Programme, where we will be engaging with young people across the West Coast to help prepare them for the world of work.

Through presentations and roadshows, CyberTED will be sharing opportunities in skills development, workplace readiness, internships, and career preparation to help bridge the gap between education and employment.

It is a tremendous honour to contribute to an initiative focused on empowering our youth and creating pathways to meaningful employment and growth.

Thank you to Saldanha Bay Municipality for the opportunity to be part of this important journey. Together, we can help build a stronger future for the youth of the West Coast.
