QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER (UTILITY SCALE PV – ELECTRICAL) WANTED

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
QA/QC certification or formal quality management systems training; Lead Auditor qualification advantageous.
Electrical trade qualification or wireman’s license preferred.
Minimum 8–10 years’ QA/QC management experience within renewable energy, power generation, substations, or industrial electrical projects.
Proven utility-scale solar PV project experience.
Strong knowledge of DC, LV, and MV electrical systems, quality management systems, and ISO standards.
Experience managing QA/QC teams and quality administration personnel.
Testing, commissioning and grid compliance experience preferred.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Advanced understanding of ITPs, commissioning procedures, inspection methodologies, testing equipment and calibration requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan (QMP).
Manage site quality control activities across DC, LV and MV electrical systems.
Lead and supervise QA/QC personnel, including Quality Control Officers, inspectors and administrators.
Ensure quality objectives, procedures and standards are communicated and implemented, while promoting a quality-focused culture.
Oversee inspections and verification of PV string wiring, DC cables and terminations, combiner boxes, inverter stations, LV and MV systems, transformers, substations, switchgear, testing and commissioning.
Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and applicable standards.
Monitor construction quality trends and identify improvement opportunities.
Approve and manage ITPs, checklists and quality procedures.
Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, OEMs, utilities and third-party agencies.
Ensure required inspections and tests are completed, documented and aligned with construction and commissioning schedules.
Verify testing equipment calibration and certification compliance.
Oversee QA/QC documentation, records, registers and reporting, including inspection records and material traceability documentation.
