CONTRACT MANAGER – PROJECTS (3-MONTH CONTRACT)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
BCom degree with a commercial background.
8 years of relevant construction and commercial experience with an understanding of the principles of GCC / FIDIC / NEC contract conditions.
Certificate of Fitness.
Competence: MS Office Relevant Packages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor contractor performance and project progress against baselines, identify risks or gaps and implement corrective actions.
Maintain contractual records, correspondence, changes, reports and other project documentation.
Develop project plans, estimates, budgets and timescales aligned with client requirements and support project planning and team briefings.
Support project invoicing, dispute resolution and improvements to contracting processes.
Ensure contracts and agreements align with SCM strategy, budgets, corporate governance, regulations and legislation.
Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, Quality Assurance, SHE, corporate governance and legislative requirements.
Identify, manage and mitigate contractual and supply chain risks, while developing contracting strategies and contract coverage plans.
Provide commercial and financial input into contract evaluations and ensure contracts are fit-for-purpose, with appropriate scope, terms and conditions.
Manage contract performance and provide specialised contract management support while liaising with stakeholders, suppliers and operational teams.
Promote process excellence, high performance and continuous improvement.
Recruit, manage, coach and develop staff and Contract and Commercial Specialists.
Manage contract lifecycle processes and contract portfolios in line with procurement strategies, business requirements and supply market capabilities.
Identify spend and portfolio improvement opportunities, monitor industry and technological trends and develop supply strategies for critical and strategic commodities.

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
QA/QC certification or formal quality management systems training; Lead Auditor qualification advantageous.
Electrical trade qualification or wireman’s license preferred.
Minimum 8–10 years’ QA/QC management experience within renewable energy, power generation, substations, or industrial electrical projects.
Proven utility-scale solar PV project experience.
Strong knowledge of DC, LV, and MV electrical systems, quality management systems, and ISO standards.
Experience managing QA/QC teams and quality administration personnel.
Testing, commissioning and grid compliance experience preferred.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
Advanced understanding of ITPs, commissioning procedures, inspection methodologies, testing equipment and calibration requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and electronic document management systems.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop, implement and maintain the project Quality Management Plan (QMP).
Manage site quality control activities across DC, LV and MV electrical systems.
Lead and supervise QA/QC personnel, including Quality Control Officers, inspectors and administrators.
Ensure quality objectives, procedures and standards are communicated and implemented, while promoting a quality-focused culture.
Oversee inspections and verification of PV string wiring, DC cables and terminations, combiner boxes, inverter stations, LV and MV systems, transformers, substations, switchgear, testing and commissioning.
Ensure installations comply with approved drawings, specifications, ITPs and applicable standards.
Monitor construction quality trends and identify improvement opportunities.
Approve and manage ITPs, checklists and quality procedures.
Coordinate inspections with clients, consultants, OEMs, utilities and third-party agencies.
Ensure required inspections and tests are completed, documented and aligned with construction and commissioning schedules.
Verify testing equipment calibration and certification compliance.
Oversee QA/QC documentation, records, registers and reporting, including inspection records and material traceability documentation.

Ensure alignment between civil, mechanical and electrical work fronts.
Plan and track PV modules and string installation, DC cabling and combiner boxes, inverters, transformer stations, LV and MV systems, substation integration, grid connection, testing and commissioning.
Coordinate schedules between contractors, OEMs and utility stakeholders.
Monitor construction progress against approved schedules and milestones.
Prepare progress reports, dashboards and S-curves, and conduct earned value and productivity analysis.
Identify schedule deviations and propose mitigation or recovery plans.
Support delay analysis and extension of time (EOT) claims.
Assist with resource loading, manpower forecasting and schedule risk assessments.
Monitor procurement lead times for critical electrical equipment.
Ensure compliance with project controls procedures and contractual obligations.
Attend coordination meetings and liaise with subcontractors to validate progress and forecast upcoming activities.
Support management decision-making through accurate schedule analysis and reporting.

Ensure quality procedures are established and integrated into the Basis of Design and contractor contracts.
Facilitate and review Permits to Work, Isolation Certificates, and Hot Work Permits.
Identify schedule risks, bottlenecks, and resource constraints, and support recovery planning.
Liaise with EPC contractors, construction managers, and plant operations to ensure seamless communication.
Manage interfaces between project, contractor, and operations teams.
Monitor contractor mobilisation, material deliveries, and productivity.
Plan and coordinate tie-ins, hot taps, and brownfield modifications during shutdowns and turnarounds.
Support Management of Change (MOC) processes and assess impacts on quality and schedule.
Take ownership of pre-construction site readiness and interface alignment before EPC ex*****on.
Verify site progress against approved baseline schedules and project milestones.
Witness contractor inspections and quality checks in line with the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP).
