We’re hiring: Field Mentor
Location: Eastern Cape & Central
Closing Date: 31 May 2026
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Attend sites with ASP teams for training and coaching
• Address gaps identified during theoretical & practical training
• Provide daily progress reports to ASP Manager & ASP Mentor
• Assess site readiness (civil and power work)
• Verify site survey data and materials delivered
• Ensure EHS pre-work checks are completed
• Ensure installations meet Ericsson and client quality standards
• Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and integration
• Ensure all required site data and documentation is uploaded
• Oversee QA/FTR requirements and snag resolution
• Support dismantling, packing, and site acceptance
• Supervise and guide team installation practices (RF & transmission)
• Conduct quality audits and performance checks
• Identify and report risks related to safety, quality, and performance
• Monitor and manage team KPIs
Requirements & Experience:
• 3–5 years’ experience in GSM field (installation, integration, troubleshooting)
• Strong knowledge of Ericsson RBS 6000 systems
• RF installation, testing, and fault-finding experience (VSWR/DTF)
• Technical trade certification (Electrical Engineering preferred)
• NQF Level 4 qualification AND RAN/Transmission equipment experience (ESSENTIAL)
• Transmission knowledge is advantageous
• Understanding of telecoms installation standards and site surveys
• EHS compliance (Risk Assessment, Medical Fitness, Working at Height)
• Valid certifications (First Aid, Fire Fighting, Defensive Driving where applicable)
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently and within a team
