HomecomingEx Appoints Marketing Leader Ivan Moroke to its Board
HomecomingEx, one of Africa's leading executive search firms, is delighted to announce the appointment of renowned business and marketing leader Ivan Moroke as Non-Executive Director for Marketing. Beyond supporting the firm's own growth, Moroke will help grow HomecomingEx's marketing offering, helping organisations across Africa identify, attract and appoint exceptional Chief Marketing Officers and other senior marketing leaders.
Established in 2003, HomecomingEx specialises in globally experienced African talent, offering Permanent, Fractional and Hourly Executive Professionals across the continent. Over the past two decades, the firm has completed more than 800 executive placements across 20+ African countries and built a unique network of over 27,000 senior globally experienced African professionals.
Moroke is one of South Africa's most respected business and marketing leaders, with more than three decades of experience across consumer intelligence, brand strategy, consulting and executive leadership. He currently holds fractional executive and board roles across several organisations, including Executive Director at Relationship Audits (Radar), and board positions at Kantar South Africa and Heartlines: Fathers Matter. His career spans senior leadership roles at British American To***co, Yellowwood Future Architects, TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris and Kantar, and includes founding the marketing consultancy Co-Currency.
He has chaired several of South Africa's leading marketing and communications industry bodies, including the APEX Effectiveness Awards, Brand Council South Africa (BCSA) and the Association for Communication and Advertising (ACA). He currently serves as Chairperson of the Marketing Achievement Awards South Africa.
Moroke and Jones first worked together more than two decades ago in the advertising industry, where both built award-winning careers centred on the power of brands, creativity and human insight.
The appointment reflects HomecomingEx's belief that marketing leadership will become increasingly critical to Africa's future growth. Africa is projected to become a US$2.5 trillion consumer market by 2030 with 1.7 billion consumers, while 37% of Fortune 500 CEOs have marketing experience somewhere in their careers - highlighting the growing importance of customer insight, growth leadership and differentiated storytelling.

Moroke joins a highly experienced HomecomingEx Board led by CEO and Board Chair Angel Jones, an award-winning entrepreneur, former international advertising executive and founder of HomecomingEx. Jones spent seven years with M&C Saatchi in London before co-founding one of South Africa's most awarded independent advertising agencies, Morrisjones&co, and has since spent more than two decades building HomecomingEx into one of Africa's leading executive search firms. The Board also comprises Roy Masamba (Director: Engagement), former HR executive at Vodafone, Safaricom, Airtel Africa and MultiChoice; Stephen Okelo-Odongo (Director: Strategy), former executive at GE, McKinsey and LexisNexis; Martine Schaffer (Director: Operations), serial entrepreneur and former CEO of multiple organisations; and investor representative Janade du Plessis, Managing Partner of Launch Africa Ventures.
