We are excited to announce that Episode 2 of our Podcast Season 2 - The Disability Advantage - is out today! In it, Lesa Bradshaw gets real about one of the critical game changers in successfully building disability confidence in your organisation — creating psychological safety for your managers to learn to become disability confident.

In this conversation, we explore how line managers are asked to build accessibility and inclusive conversations into common practice, whilst often not feeling safe, equipped, or confident themselves.

Lesa unpacks five confidence gaps that quietly undermine inclusion efforts, including fear of saying the wrong thing, uncertainty around invisible disabilities, avoidance of difficult conversations, lack of practical language and tools, and pressure to “get it right” without space to learn. None of this is about intent. It is about psychological safety for managers. Because when managers do not feel safe, accessibility slows down - not because people do not care, but because they hesitate!

In this episode, we explore:
• Why line managers are the real gatekeepers of disability confidence
• How uncertainty, not discrimination, often drives inaction
• What psychological safety actually looks like for those expected to lead in an accessible and inclusive way
• The coaching framework used to help leaders ask better questions, remove barriers and build trust
• Four practical actions organisations can take immediately

This Podcast is not theory. It highlights real, relevant and practical guidance that typifies the signature approach adopted by Lesa Bradshaw and her team. Our service portfolio not only brings talent with a disability to the doors of employers, it ensures that the doors are open, the accessibility within those doors is felt with real impact, and the people within have the language, confidence and practical tools to lead conversations that benefit business, as well as people with a disability.

If organisations are serious about improving their disability performance, visit us at www.bradshawleroux.co.a and enjoy this Podcast episode.

Youth Day - 16 June - remember the 1976 Soweto Uprising, when young people stood up against an unequal education system. A moment that changed South Africa’s history.

Today, it is also a reminder that many young people are still being left behind, with around 6 in 10 young people in South Africa unemployed. Young people with disabilities are among those most affected, facing compounded barriers in education, skills development and employment pathways.

Youth events often talk about potential.
But disability confidence is about making sure every young person actually gets the chance to reach theirs.

Too often, disability is discussed as a policy, a checkbox, or a “special topic.” What young people really need is honest conversation, practical confidence, and visible examples of what an accessible world looks like in real life.

This is why we developed our Career Readiness Program https://bradshawleroux.co.za/saba-candidates/

This is why disability confidence speakers matter at Youth Day events!
For those oganisations planning Youth Day events, Bradshaw LeRoux can help bring the intersectionality of disability to life in an impactful way, sharing diverse lived experiences that open up perspective, deepen understanding and create conversations that truly land in the room.

We offer:

• Lived experience speakers
• Facilitated panels made up of youth with disabilities
• Impactful, practical disability confidence conversations

If you are marking Youth Day next month, why not contact us for a no obligation exploration of how we can support you!
