Employment Equity reporting season opened on 1 September.

Most employers have the dates. Fewer have checked who actually belongs in the report.

Under section 57 of the Employment Equity Act, anyone placed with you through a temporary employment service for three months or longer is deemed your employee. Not your provider's. Yours. They sit in your workforce profile, they count against your sector targets, and they form part of what the Department looks at when it assesses your compliance certificate.

That certificate carries weight well beyond the report. It takes account of your minimum wage record and your wider labour-law history, and it is what a business needs in hand to contract with the state.

So if you run a large flexible workforce, the data underneath those numbers has to be accurate and current. That is the part we carry for our clients — vetted employees, clean payroll and compliance records, and workforce data you can report on with confidence.

Manual submissions close on 1 October. Online closes on 15 January 2027.

If you are not certain your flexible talent is reflected properly in your numbers, check it now rather than in January.
