Business Development Director: Southern and Eastern Africa Business Line
An opportunity exists for a Business Development Director for the Southern and Eastern Africa Business Line. The main focus of this position will be two fold:
1. Stakeholder management and business development outside of South Africa in line with the international strategy of the organisation, including competitive landscape assessment, setting up of operations/offices in identified countries and scouting for local talent
2. Provide management advisory services with respect to strategy development, business development and stakeholder management to the Business Line
This position reports to the Business Line Director: Southern and Eastern Africa and has strong relationship with the Business Units in South Africa as well as Mozambique, Zimbabwe and Botswana (current international operations in Africa) as well as with other Business Development Directors across the Group
KPA's
* Oversee and drive the company's Africa strategy development, business development initiatives as well as stakeholder management:
Analyse and understand the company strategy and facilitate the development and review
Ensure strategic alignment with Group
Develop business development plan and a stakeholder engagement plan/strategy for the Business Line
* Render a management advisory service with respect to strategy development, business development and stakeholder management:
Liaise with line management with regard to their business strategic direction and provide input into business plans
Keep abreast of market trends, news, events and deadlines to ensure that all possible, new or enhanced opportunitites are exploited
Plan, prepare and deliver business presentations and proposals
Advise management on new product developments and or prospective clients
Provide input into the development of marketing material
* Develop and administer programs, procedures and guidelines to assist in aligning the team with the strategic goals of the company:
* Liaise with stakeholders to assess service delivery standards, business requirements, so as to ensure continuous and improved service delivery:
Coordinate and conduct customer visits and follow up meetings
Provide key client management role for balance of continent
Facilitate customer satisfaction & market surveys
Attend and interact with relevant industry associations
* Report on strategy development, business development and stakeholder management for the Business Line:
Monitor progress with respect to programmes and projects
Give feedback on business development initiatives
Compile and provide management reports
Maintain effective database
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* A tertiary qualification
Minimum of 15 years experience in senior management role
* The incumbent must have a track record of success in developing new initiatives, generating business from the public as well as private sectors outside the borders of South Africa and must understand both environments
* Must have exhibited strong client relations and commercial capabilitites
* Significant experience at a strategic level in a multi-disciplinary corporate environment
