Vacancy Available – Technician - Durban, Kwa-Zulu Natal.

Our Client a pioneering member of the internet industry seeks a Technician to join their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
• Being accountable for effecting first and second line IT support to all internal and external stakeholders in the recording and resolution of all IT support tickets logged or calls taken
• Providing technical support in terms of hardware, software, systems and administration
• Ensuring expected service levels and response times are adhered to
• Following the company processes to effectively escalate matters with efficient resolutions
• Maintaining constant communication with end users, engineers, partners and third party service providers on all matters requiring technical support
• Providing after hours support on rotation with the team.

Requirements:
• 3 to 5 years’ working experience with Microsoft technologies, workstations, servers, technical and operational support
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience working as an IT support technician, directly supporting end-users, both face-to-face and remotely
• Competent knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems
• Basic networking experience with routers, access points and switches
• Experience with LANs and WANs and related connectivity
• Experience with hosting solutions in terms of email, website, domain & cloud hosting
• Office 365 & other cloud-based technologies
• A valid code 8 driver’s license
• Relevant IT diploma or degree
• Experience having worked with a helpdesk ticketing system such as OTRS, Zendesk & osTicket, Heat, Remedy, etc.

Advantageous skills:
• Linux
• Azure
• Experience of ISP operations and support
• Windows Server operating systems
• Experience with generating quotes in terms of licensing, services, hardware and software
• Knowledge of Android and iOS mobile devices
• MCSE and/or MCSA certifications
