The YES ESG Awards was hosted in partnership with the ๐’๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐š๐ข๐ง๐š๐›๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐„๐ง๐ฏ๐ข๐ซ๐จ๐ง๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐š๐ฅ, ๐’๐จ๐œ๐ข๐š๐ฅ ๐š๐ง๐ ๐†๐จ๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐€๐Ÿ๐ซ๐ข๐œ๐š ๐‚๐จ๐ง๐Ÿ๐ž๐ซ๐ž๐ง๐œ๐ž (๐’๐„๐€๐‚๐จ๐ง). Through ongoing investigations and intelligence-led assessments, Waal has identified 188 potential illegal fuel depots in Gauteng alone, highlighting the scale of the illicit fuel trade and the urgent need for coordinated action.

Recent investigations have revealed that fuel adulteration is costing South Africa's fiscus billions of rand annually, while organised criminal networks continue to exploit fuel supply chains through smuggling, under-declaration, and illegal fuel mixing.

Combating fuel-related crime requires a multidisciplinary approach involving private security providers, law enforcement agencies, regulatory authorities, and industry stakeholders in order to protect legitimate businesses, safeguard consumers, and strengthen South Africa's economy.

This past Thursday, 131 trainees joined us on parade and were deployed to various divisions, including Mining, Aviation, Guarding, and Estates, across the North West, Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, Western Cape, and Gauteng provinces.

As tradition dictates at the Gijima Training Academy, once our trainees have successfully completed their rigorous training, they are required to step forward and prove themselves in an operational environment.

Through the time-honoured tradition of a Pass Out Parade, we celebrated the achievements of 131 trainees, marking the culmination of their training and the beginning of their professional journey in the field.
