👁️ FLOATING OPHTHALMIC ASSISTANT

📍 Cape Town – Foreshore & Blaauwberg

🕗 Monday – Friday | 08:00 – 17:00

Our client is looking for a reliable and experienced Ophthalmic Assistant to join a busy ophthalmology environment as a Floating Ophthalmic Assistant.

The successful candidate will travel between two ophthalmology practices in Cape Town – Foreshore and Blaauwberg, providing support where needed and ensuring smooth day-to-day patient care and practice operations.

🩺 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

● Assist ophthalmologists with patient examinations and procedures

● Perform ophthalmic testing and preliminary assessments

● Prepare patients for consultations and procedures

● Maintain accurate patient records

● Assist with theatre/procedure preparation where required

● Ensure examination rooms are clean, organised and adequately stocked

● Provide professional and compassionate patient care

● Support both practices according to operational requirements

● Travel between the Foreshore and Blaauwberg practices as required

📋 REQUIREMENTS

● Previous experience as an Ophthalmic Assistant

● Relevant ophthalmic/medical qualification or training

● Strong knowledge of ophthalmic terminology and procedures

● Excellent patient-care and communication skills

● Computer literate

● Well organised, adaptable and able to work independently

● Comfortable working between two practice locations

● Valid driver’s licence and own reliable vehicle essential

● Professional and well-presented

Location: Foreshore & Blaauwberg, Cape Town

Hours: Monday – Friday, 08:00 – 17:00

Position: Full-time

🚗 Own reliable vehicle & valid driver’s licence essential

We’re looking for someone who is confident with Advanced Excel, including:

✔️ Pivot Tables
✔️ XLOOKUP
✔️ Power Query
✔️ IF & IFERROR formulas
✔️ Formula auditing
✔️ Excel dashboards
✔️ Conditional formatting & more

Experience in office administration is essential, while supply chain, debtors/creditors and tender experience will be advantageous.

⭐ Macros would be a definite advantage.
