Go GAP

Go GAP The Graduate Asset Programme (GAP) is a "Let's Get Our Country Working" initiative. GAP matches educated graduate interns to businesses

What makes GAP unique is the fact that it focuses on meeting the needs of businesses. GAP aims to make internships an appealing and business-friendly undertaking, while ensuring that both host businesses and graduates are protected and appropriately informed. By joining GAP and using its expert services, businesses are not only involved in a national imperative to address unemployment, but also gr

owing and developing themselves by utilising graduate talent and skill. With a selection of partners providing legal, human resources, entrepreneurial and job-readiness support and training, GAP is well aligned to make hosting an intern as pleasurable and beneficial as possible for all concerned. GAP is implemented by Fetola and supported by the Presidential Jobsfund and other funders.

General information

The GAP website is a single entry point for businesses to source, assess, interview and recruit suitable graduate interns. GAP works through the use of a unique matching tool, where hard skills (e.g. qualifications) and soft skills (e.g. personality) of the graduate are matched to the specific needs of the business. Upon sign-up, both graduates and host businesses enter their respective details and create a profile. These details are captured on the GAP database and are then entered into the matching tool. Based on the attributes entered, matches are generated. At this point, the business may shortlist potential interns and follow up accordingly through telephonic, email and face-to-face interviews
