A full deck turnaround outside of working hours is a big ask and how you handle this conversation matters.

Here’s what we suggest you say:

1️⃣ “I have commitments tonight. I can get you a solid structure and outline. Would that work as a starting point?”

👉 You are honest about what is realistic without just saying no.

2️⃣ “I want to make sure this is done properly for tomorrow. Is there any flexibility on the deadline or can we push the meeting slightly so I can give you something worth presenting?”

👉 You prioritise the quality of the outcome over the original timeline.

3️⃣ “I can make a start tonight but I will not get through all of it. Can we jump on a quick call now so I focus my time on the right things?”

👉 You use the time you do have on what actually moves the needle for tomorrow.
